FANTASTIC TASTE when used in recipes!
Only recently have we become obsessed with Thai curries... and of course they are heavy on freshly grated ginger root. Ahhh. I know ginger root well, have even grown it myself! But... with the extreme drought this year, it's no wonder that our own ginger roots out in our gardens went kapoot. Ack. So as backup, I ordered this entire pound of powdered ginger root. Hey, while I am very depressed and distraught over our gardening failures during this extreme drought this year: I sure am glad that I purchased an entire pound of this dried ginger powder to tide us over. This ginger powder has saved all the curries that I'll ever want to make for several years forward!

Nice for a quick ginger tea
I originally bought this to blend with other herbal teas but I am finding that it is delicious all on it's own. I have made several glasses of iced ginger tea to go with meals to aid in digestion. It prevents heartburn and also seems to aid in getting rid of it if I don't drink it with my meal.I use a french press (32 oz) and throw a small handful in the bottom, pour boiling water over the top, and wait about 15-20 minutes. Then I pour halfway into glasses, add a small amount of raw honey, and then top it off with ice. It melds together nicely with a hint of that spicy ginger taste but not so spicy that it ruins your dinner.

Good ginger
While I miss the large container this used to come in the new zip lock is possibly better for the landfill, being small. I think the old plastic recycled, but didn’t keep air off the ginger as well as the ziplock does. The ginger, which I’ve bought a couple of times previously, has a good amount of flavor, making it great in baking, stir fires and curries.

Good quality, like that both products are sold as a pair

Exactly as described
I'll admit upfront I'm a novice when it comes to fancy cooking, but I wanted natural, organic ginger to cook with. Not only do I like the taste of ginger, I suffer from GERD. Ginger is well-known for helping those with stomach problems, so I ordered this product. It came exactly as pictured and described--a one-pound bag of ginger slices. I'm still tinkering with how to best cook with this product, but I can say you will get what you ordered.

Nasty bark like ginger
This dried ginger is about the consistency of bark. It’s hard, flavorless, and hardly has a smell. There is a recipe on the back, however does NOT even include this ginger- or any ginger at all! And the other recipe includes FRESH ginger?!?! Not sure how on earth I would use this bark. I even soaked it overnight to see if it would change consistency- nope. And it’s flat out nasty to suck on, unless you like sucking on bark. Would NOT recommend, honestly not sure why a I even bothered getting this stuff.

Misleading Ginger ad
This Ginger should only be used to chew on. This was not a good mix for my Kombucha recipes.
