I've recently started to bald my head with a foil shaver and every so often I would have razor bumps or ingrown hairs appearing 3-4 days after a shave, especially if I went against the grain. Having to deal with the irritating bumps made me hesitant to shave more than once every 2 weeks. Once I replaced my previous aftershave with bump patrol, I noticed that no matter how I shaved, with the grain, across the grain, or against the grain, the skin irritation and bumps that came with close shaving stopped happening. I shave twice a week now with no issues. You have to put just enough in your hands to rub onto all of the places you shaved for it to work, it dries quickly and doesn't have a noticeable odor.I gave this 4 stars because the 0.5 ounce bottles are not worth paying for. I got the 2 pack 0.5 oz by mistake. Get the smaller size bottle only if you want to try it to see if it works for you, and if it does, get the 2 ounce size.

I’m cursed with neck hair that curls back into my skin causing painful ingrown hair. I’ve spent 25 years trying to find ways to manage the problem and rid myself of the pain. I’ve tried dozens of prescription and OTC creams and topical solutions. And frankly none of them have had any real effect for me. Hydrocortisone doesn’t really work and it apparently can thin the top layer of your skin making it even more sensitive. I’ve tried prescription Elidel. I have purchased and tried nearly every commercial product available from the Grooming Lounge including expensive products from Kiehl’s, Jack Black, Anthony, Tend Skin, Seacret, Neutrogena, Art of Shaving, etc. You get the picture. I have a literal drawer full of expensive but totally I neffective ingrown hair lotions, potions, balms and solutions.So, I was highly skeptical that bump patrol would be any different. But I figured, hey, why not try it? So, I shaved one night a few years back, applied BP, and woke up the next morning without ingrown hair pain for the first time in 20 years.It was hard to believe that this new stuff could have worked that well. So, I pushed it a bit, and decided I would shave everyday for an entire week and use bump patrol to see if I would get the same results each day. Normally I would have been crying by the second day from the irritation and pain, especially as my dress shirt rubbed against my neck throughout the day. And frankly I would be embarrassed by the unsightly red irritation and splotches all over my neck. But I used bump patrol once each morning and the irritation, redness and pain never returned.My sensitive skin does not allow me to shave my beard everyday. But I now confidently shave my neck every morning because of BP. I don’t know what’s so magical about this formula, but it’s been a blessing for me.And as I write this review, I’m staring at a trash bin full of expensive creams that never came close to living up to their claims.Thank you, bump patrol.

I've used Bump Patrol with Andis Clippers, Single Blade safety razors, and BRAUN Shavers. It helps no matter the razor I use, but as an African-American man, I still need to be cautious because if the razor causes me to bump heavily, Bump Patrol will not prevent all razor bumps. First, find the best shaving platform for your skin type and use Bump Patrol as an added layer of protection from razor bumps or help reduce razor bumps after a major breakout. For me, Andis Styliner II clippers work best for dry shaving my face and head. Bump Patrol helps to keep me utterly free of razor bumps when I use the clippers. However, when I use Bump Fighter safety razors which give me a closer shave, Bump Patrol helps the occasional trapped hair to break free before a severe razor bump can form. My BRAUN shaver worked but caused a deep razor bump that eventually turned into a cyst that Bump Patrol could not prevent. Bump Patrol is not a magic wand, but it's a great tool to have in the fight against razor bumps.

My husband has been using Bump Patrol for many years now. He suffered from bad ingrown and we finally found a product that works! He uses this every time he shaves his head and beard, and ingrowns are now a thing of the past! It smells great and fresh, and it moisturizes the skin nicely instead of drying it out like many products. We'll definitely be lifelong customers!
