Q: Does come with a protective cover?

Mine did not come with a cover.

Q: I am confused, the listing says black but a customer said he got silver. Which is which?

The insides are the same the black version has a slightly large screen and the button feel of black model as well. But you will have same functions in both models.

Q: Does anyone know how to replace the battery?

Access is on the back/top. A pain to remove, but should be able to pop it out with a small screwdriver.
