I got this for my 9 year old granddaughter. It kept her and a friend busy on a spring break afternoon. She love finding the gems, cleaning them up, and reading about them in the enclosed brochure.

The description in the detail states “kids will be thrilled”. My grandson was thrilled and super excited when “digging” into this kit. While some of the birthstones are tiny he still enjoyed seeing how different they looked when held up to the daylight which showed more detail and also when using the magnifying glass. An added bonus for him was the display bottle. We look forward to purchasing another style.

my 7 year old granddaughter loved this. Kept her entertained for hours until she had dug out all the gems.

My son loved doing this and learning about all the different kinds of gems. Specifically loved the history/nicknames of the gems.

Fun activity for kids. 9 year old enjoyed it and kept busy for about 30-40 mins. Best to do outside as it can get a bit messy with the digging. We kept a cup of water nearby to wash off the gems. Gems are very small but it was still cool to find them and compare with the booklet.

I got these for my niece because they were on her wish list. This is a fun activity to keep kids (or adults!) busy. It’s a great gift & easy to use - although it can become messy. I highly recommend it.

Bought it for him as a Christmas presents we found 15 different gems in it and he had a blast digging through it and finding them i would suggest soaking it in water for 5-10 min before starting it does make it messy but way easier to dig it apart highly recommend if you have a curious kid like mine
