Hot sauce w a tingly difference.
There are lots of hot sauces out there that have tons of heat, but not much else. This is different. It has lots of peppercorns from the prickly ash tree, a.k.a., chinese peppercorns, which lend a very warm heat along with a hint of lip-numbing tingle. This also has enough heat to complement the warm/numbing heat of the peppercorns, all atop midtones of black beans, garlic and chili. This is great w pot stickers dumplings, noodles, etc. For a taste of something different, I recommend this hot sauce.

Makes an excellent addition to a peanut sauce
I keep buying this! Mix this with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce and peanut butter for an excellent dipping sauce for meat. It's hot on its own, but delicious mixed with the above.Really great product. Price on Amazon is good, I have price checked across a couple competitors. For leakage there is a little for some reason but it's easily solved, just keep a paper towel folded beneath it.

Best sauce ever!
I’ve had this I’m my cart for a few months… dear lord it showed up today and I’ll be lucky if it lasts until tomorrow. Perfect heat that keeps you going back. I just keep looking for stuff to eat it on besides a spoon. I can’t leave it alone. Buy it. Better than I expected.

Very tasty but it's not extra spicy
Only complaint is that one jar = 3 meals for me. My spouse hates spice so I have to add mine into stir fry after cooking, separately, which this works perfect for - much better than using dry powder and flakes. But it's not spicy and I wish it was because I don't like using a bunch of rapeseed oil just to get a little heat. Please make a version which is 3x this spice level, so one jar = 9 or 10 servings.

Delicious, but extra spicy?
For a while now my go to chili oil has been the Lee Kum Kee Chiu Chow, but I’ve always wished it had a little more kick. I tried another called Chi Chi Fire, and it kicked a little too hard for my taste. I love spicy food, but only up to a point, beyond which I can’t enjoy my meal. I decided to give this a try hoping it would be in that Goldilocks hot zone. It’s delicious, and I didn’t think it was lacking in chili crisp solids as some other reviewers have said, but extra spicy? I personally did not find it to be any hotter than the Lee Kum Kee. Maybe a little bit higher quality ingredients, more complex flavor, more umami, but not enough to justify the extra cost imo. The LKK is $4.50 for 7.2oz. This one is $10 for 6oz. You will certainly not be disappointed in the flavor, and it may be plenty hot for some, but if you are a seasoned chili oil fanboy or girl I don’t think you will find it Xtra spicy. My search for the perfect chili oil continues.UPDATE: after buying another jar and putting it head to head against the Lee Kum Kee I’ve decided to upgrade to a full five stars. It is still not quite as “extra spicy” as I would like, but definitely spicier and tastier than the LKK. Hot enough for a good kick, but mild enough to allow you to really heap it in your food. Also, I was mistaken about the price of LKK, which is in fact comparable to this one. About $10 for 7.2oz of the LKK, same price for 6oz of the Fly By Jing. It is the LKK Chiu Chow Chili Crisp that is $4.50 per jar, and I have not tried that one… yet. I am reading on Reddit that there is a company called Blank Slate Kitchen that makes an excellent Sichuan chili oil, and I’m already placing an order.

texture is oily, lid is slippery.
UPDATE: The seller reached out and offered a refund. I refused because I did not want to take money away from a small business owner. However they refunded me anyway. I cannot say enough good things about the owners. They are truly honest and kind people with a generous heart and it was much appreciated! A rare commodity on Amazon. I gave the 2nd jar to my sister and she actually loved it. She likes salty and spicey, so it depends upon the consumer. If you love spicey stuff with that "umami savory" taste (that certain "something" that makes a savory dish taste yummy), then I think this would be for you. We've been using it on our morning eggs and we like that the best, it's perfect with eggs. :-)I had too high hopes for this after seeing a report on a morning show about it. I had never heard of chili crisp and it sounded fantastic, and the small business that owns it seemed like good people. So I wanted to test it out. Could only find it in a local Target store, but it was very pricey. Amazon charged the same price but at least it was for 2 jars instead of one. Many reviewers said that the texture was oily and to make sure you stir it well (which I did). It was good on stir fry and also eggs, (on savory foods mostly), but we found it to be a bit too spicy for our taste and it had an oily taste (and not the pleasant kind, but more of an aged oily feel and taste). We decided to just keep and use it for eggs and stir fry which it was mostly good with. I put the opened used jar in the fridge to keep it fresher, but one day, when I reached for the jar, the lid felt a bit oily, when I tried to gently open it, it slipped and flew out of my hands and half the contents (worth about $5.50) went all on the front of my favorite shirt and on the floor and freshly painted wall! Luckily, some good stain removal soap removed it from the shirt, and I wiped it off the wall before it could stain. This all happened right before a party we were having, so I cleaned up the floor area before I could take a pic of that also. It reaked of old rancid oil for 2 days after. The biggest complaint of this product is that they did not design the lids well. They are not securely tight fitting in the first place, and if the inner part of the lid gets oily (which is pretty easy), then the lid seems to easily loosen, and could also easily slip out of your hands while opening. Just a warning to people who buy it, be very careful and hold it over your sink when opening. Also, it tasted a bit too salty to us, so a little goes a long way. I plan on giving the second jar to a relative, as we did not really care for the taste enough to keep a 2nd jar of it. If you do buy it, make sure to stir it WELL before using it, or you'll just get a mouthful of seasoned oil.

A balance of heat, flavor and texture
Unlike typical chili crisp that only add heat and crunch, this Fly by Jing Chili Crisp has a great balance of heat, crisp and flavor. It has a kick a spiciness that’s not overpowering and excellent flavor that I absolutely love. The chili oil has a dark tone and flavorful too.Though I wish they had more chili crisp inside the jar because I love the texture and beans.

Zip Tie in Jar
Great Sauce. But I almost swallowed piece of a zip tie that was in the jar while enjoying my dinner. Was a bit scary. May have been one in a million but maybe up the quality control.
