Virtually no suds in my HE washer, soft clothes & a bargain!
The editor of a major women's magazine recently touted the powder version of this product; mostly she liked being able to order online and have it delivered to her house. Because of sensitive skin, I have used liquid detergents for years, even making my own low-suds recipe for awhile but gave that up when I discovered a major eco-friendly brand that was low-sudsing and didn't irritate my skin. After reading about this product, I went to the Charlie's Soap website and tracked the 32-oz liquid container (for $10) to a local store. It was a bit pricey for the size, but since it is just my husband and me (three adult sons are in and out very irregularly), I decided to give it a try. The first thing I liked about the bottle was the built-in measurer with markings in both ounce and milliliter. Squeeze the bottle and the soap goes up the tube on the side of the bottle into the measurer and you pour it directly into your washer's soap dispenser, then the cap screws back on. No separate, messy lid or spillage to deal with. There is a second cap to unscrew, with a regular large opening, because this handy container is refillable from the gallon jug. The packaging says to run a couple loads with rags to clean the old detergent out of the washer; I didn't do that so my first load was bit sudsy, so I ran the load several times to get out any old suds. I couldn't believe how naturally soft my clothes were (I haven't used fabric softener in years since we have softened water). I also like that there is no added fragrance, and the soap doesn't have any particular natural fragrance. The ingredients listed are washing soda, coconut oil and other natural cleaners. Also, my HE washer is very clean now and doesn't have that stale, mildewed smell (I always leave the door open when not in use). Charlie's Soap is made for HE washers, and the directions say to use no more than one ounce per load, even a large load. I do that, and even with softened water the soap generates practically no suds. If there are suds, it's because I'm washing clothes or other items that have old detergent in them. I cannot say enough good things about Charlie's Soap, and considering that I paid $10 for the 32-oz container, this four-gallon multipack is quite a bargain. I also signed up for the six-month autosubscribe (the maximum time, which I will adjust if necessary) so there was another small discount for that. Yes, it does seem a bit weird to order laundry soap online, but considering the savings and that it is delivered to my door (in a box that my cats love), I got over the weirdness pretty quickly.

WOW! A GREAT LAUNDRY SOAP THAT IS ALSO GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!!!!
I purchased this Laundry Soap because I was looking for a Really Great Soap that was also environmentally friendly! About the same time we purchased the LG Tromm front loading washer and dryer set! Which by the way, I LOVE!!...I went from using 50 gallons of water per load to about 15-16 gallons of water per load! This soap works very well with the front loaders, but you can use this soap with either a top or front loading machines. I was amazed at how clean my husbands work clothes came out. He was even impressed! And I didn't use any bleach or anything else with it. Also, everything comes out softer than they did when I used my other soaps. It's very low suds, you don't need to use alot, and You can purchase this in powder or liquid form, I use the liquid soap, but I think next time I'll purchase this soap from the actual Charlies Soap Company, because I found that when you order through them, if your order is at least $20.00, shipping is free, plus if you order two or more items you get further discounts, so it is much cheaper purchasing it from Charlies directly. I just googled Charlies Soap and it pulled their website right up. Bottom Line....I highly recommend this soap in either liquid or powder form whether you have a top loader or a front loading machine, but especially if you have a front loading machine, a Highly Powerful Combination! I just wished I'd done this much sooner! Try it, you'll Never go back!

Just clean.
This is really great laundry soap. I'd discovered that adding vinegar in a Downy ball would allow me to quit using fabric softener a long time ago - but with this soap, you don't even need the vinegar. My clothing washes so clean, even some of the old stains are beginning to come out. It's not going to take out hard-set grease stains, but within reason you can anticipate a clean load of laundry and fabric that remains soft. One weird thing that I initially thought I was imagining is this - my dryer lint catcher is seldom even 1/3 of the way covered since I've been using this. If anybody has a logical explanation for this, I'd love to understand it. The only thing I can think is that every fiber of the laundry has released all the chemicals, and no longer attracts fluff? I dunno - I'm guessing. All I really know is, my clothes feel much better.I'm glad I found the gallon size. I really don't want to be without this soap ever.UPDATE: I purchased this item on July 23, 2016. Today is February 16, 2017. I have enough left in my bottle to do two loads, which is all I need to hold me till the next shipment comes in. I do an average of 1.5 loads a week. Extremely satisfied with value and quality.

No skin or stink issues
I was honestly concerned to try Charlie's Soap because I read some bad reviews about babies having skin irritation or burns, BUT there were many positive reviews as well. Even my local cloth diapering store sells Charlie's and raves about it! So I took the leap and all is well!We have been using the liquid Charlie's Soap for 6 months with no issues. I started washing all of our clothes, linens, etc. to test it out before my baby arrived. All of our clothes washed well, no fading, no reactions, etc. My 4-year-old (that has sensitive skin) didn't have any problems either, so I kept using it. My newborn is now here and I wash all of his cloth diapers and clothes with it. Again, no skin irritation at all. I haven't had any stinky diapers. I have some staining but that is normal with breastfed babies and cloth diapers. No smells or leaks. With Charlie's and wool dryer balls, I know I am taking care of my family with less chemicals and that is such a great feeling!Lastly, I am sooooo happy I can purchase this product and have it shipped quickly with my Prime membership. When I'm getting low, I don't have to run to the store. I just order it quickly from my phone. I hope Amazon and Charlie's keep that up!
