Nothing Grew
I purchased this kit in 2022, and followed the directions exactly. I spread the mixture in a location where natural conditions would support porcini mushrooms in my location, such as the correct evergreen trees nearby along with other vegetation. The plot has gone through two fall porcini growing seasons but no mushrooms have come up.

I fell for it
I love porcinis, absolutely love them and thought, "why pay so much for them when I can grow them." Well I paid for these and nothing sprouted this season. I went back and did further research and realized there is a reason porcinis are exoensive, NO ONE HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO GROW THEM COMMERCIALLY OR IN THEIR BACKYARD AND THAT IS WHY THEY ARE SO EXPENSIVE.Don't be fooled by these like I was.

Pretty good stuff
I didn't cultivate properly. The little experiment I was running, I did see that the mycelium was spreading. But something on my end caused the mycelium to die out.

know your mycology
So I purchased this knowing that boletes require a specific type of relationship with their solid organic substrate (live wood) to fruit (grow an actual mushroom). I took the wood pellets and placed them in a sterile liquid substrate. Yes Mycelium grew within the liquid. I have had little luck inoculating grains with the mycelium but I knew that this type of mushroom does not act like typical mushrooms that will easily grow inside a monotub or other type of solid substate. Still was fun to play around with. I suppose I can release the mycelium into the earth and see what happens. Good luck and know your mycology if you are attempting to fruit these in controlled environment.
