Beautiful Book, Beautiful Story, Beautiful Everything Else
Battle Tendency is one of my favorite arcs of Jojo, and Joseph will forever live in my heart as the gigantic dork he ultimately is. This version of the manga does the series absolute justice-- Everything from the beautiful design and art, to the interviews with Araki at the end, and (of course) the story itself. The moment this book plopped into my hands, I swear I had to do a double-take at how glorious it looked and felt. The only thing I really have to complain about is a few little knicks in the cover... Which I don't even really want to call knicks, because they're so small! But other than that, this is a fantastic production that does this series and it's illustrious legacy right in every single way. I'll definitely be getting the second and third editions!

Bigger than expected and printed in the original Japanese format
After loving the Anime for a couple years I decided to buy the first volume of my favorite JoJo and it did not disappoint. The manga is bigger than other manga such as Attack on Titan and Naruto I have by about 75 percent. Since it is printed in the right to left Japanese format it can be a bit jarring to read if no accustomed to that way of reading. But after a couple minutes it’s very easy and straightforward. The art is beautiful and has the charm of older manga. There are a few colored pages that pop out and add a little bit of spice to an already uniquely drawn story. It’s a great manga and an amazing source material for an even better anime.

You’re next line is going to be...
Joseph Joestar has a lot of Bizarre adventures, and it’s only the first volume! He may look like Jonathan a lot, but the second Jojo has a completely different personality and a knack for using hamon, carrying a lot of grenades and a tommy gun just in case he has to fight vampires and the brains (or lack thereof) to enter secret facilities and confront ancient Aztec gods. An exhilarating and entertaining read. It definitely doesn’t stop rolling until you finish the last chapter.

Battle Tendency is great and will not dissapoint
Part 2 -Battle Tendency- of JoJo's Bizzare Adventure follows young Joseph Joestar on his adventure to defeat the Pillar Men who are trying to become the ultimate life form.Volume 1 at the beginning takes place in America where Joseph meets Smokey Brown and become close friends. Soon enough he meets Straizo who uses the strange Stone Masks from Part 1 to become a vampire. He defeats him and finds out that Sweedwagon his uncle had gone missing and made his way to Mexico to save him.In Mexico he meets German (N*zi) soldiers who have Sweedwagon under their care to find out about the mysterious Pillar man where they found him. They awaken Santana/Santavieto and with this we see that Joseph had interested Hamon (something that first appears in Part 1). Joseph with the help of Rudol von Stroheim defeat Santana putting him in a long sleep that turns him back into stone.By the end of the first volume Sweedwagon takes Joseph to Italy where he will learn more about Hamon and train to strengthen himself and control his abilities.

No stands? NO PROBLEM!
I feel that JoJo parts 1 and 2 don’t get enough credit. Though the subsequent parts are brilliant- Vento Aureo being my favorite JoJo part ever- you have to respect your roots. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 2: Battle Tendency is absolutely awesome, and deserves just as much praise as it’s sequels. In Battle Tendency we follow a young Joseph Joestar as he travels from England to New York, only to get caught up in an upcoming battle between human and Pillarman. This volume will not only demonstrate Joseph’s competency as a character, but will also establish who the Pillarmen are, and the origins of the Stone Mask that turned Dio Brando into an immortal vampire!

Great series
Great series that my kids absolutely love! I love that these are hardback and therefore a bit more durable than paperbacks as well. Great art work and an interesting story line for sure!
