Lightweight and comfortable
I bought this brace to help stabilize my left ankle, which has pretty severe PTTD. Having gone through several braces previously, this is easily the most comfortable and effective brace I've found to date. In addition, it is very lightweight and easy to put on. It fits fine inside my current hiking boots and even with sandals. It does not fit inside my cycling shoes, but probably would if my ankle weren't in such bad condition. The price may seem a little high, but I have found it well worth it for the comfort and quality.

Works, But Causes Discomfort/Blister
First, the product seems well-made. It prevents my ankle from rolling when I wear it. Now for the bad news. After only about 45 minutes and walking up and downhill for about a mile on an archery range, this thing was creasing or doing something to the bottom of my foot. It was very painful and left a long, thin blister where the edge of the device went under my foot. I was wearing it under my sock. I haven't tried it over my sock as that seems like it will be slippery and not prevent rolling very well. I'll try wearing it like that when I'm just around the house and can easily remove it.

Bauerfeind MalleoLoc Ankle Brace, for Left ankle wasn't what I expected...
I thought I was getting the ankle brace that was solid, as pictured here... but instead, I received a soft ankle brace,... which worked fine! Bauerfeind is a fine product for injuries and reinforcing weak joints... I'm still grateful for this product...I wear it every day...

light, stable, easy, durable
unfortunately, right after surgery the scar and ankle were too sensitive and its probably not a good idea to use a 100$ brace barefoot either. I also did not find out how to use the thermoplastic fitting at home. Probably would have to ask PT to do it. But this is the most stable and lightest brace I found once out of the boot until one feels secure enough for taping or a soft brace like the malleotrain plus

Unconfortable!
It's very unconfortable to use, specially for the foot sole.

Super uncomfortable
It is super uncomfortable (pressure points in different places after several adjustments to get it to fit like the pics). I called the manufacturer before I ordered because my measurement is exactly the cutoff between size 1 and 2. They said to size down to size 1. It’s free returns, so I now ordered a size 2 to check if the discomfort is a sizing issue; I’ll return one or both of them. Will update.

Ankle Brace
I have a traumatic acute disrupted lateral ligament of the ankle complicating degenerative arthritis. When the swelling and bruising had mostly resolved, I began using the Malleoloc ankle brace to support the ankle and relieve the pain of walking. I had tried Ace wraps and an air-type splint without any relief. The Malleoloc fitted perfectly [over a sock, after some trial and error on bare skin]. I use it without any problems in my usual jogger, Propet shoe and Muck gardening boots. It allows flexion/extension at the ankle [subtalar] joint and restricts eversion, and particularly inversion [which stresses the damaged ligament]. I wear it most of the time during the day without noticing it. I have walked up to 17000 steps in a day with it, about half power walking. I could not do this without this brace because of pain and instability. It provides exceptional support on rough terrain and symptomatic and functional improvement. I will wear it until the ligaments heal - it is now 6 months [follow up MRI next month].
