Good quality easy to use and change knives

I purchased the wrong size carbide tips for wood turning. Instead of returning them I purchased this item and find the turning tool to being perfect and well priced.

Never used this type of lathe tool before. Turned a walnut plate with it. Cuts good and no sharpening. I have a little trouble with it catching, but I am sure there is a learning curve. Keeping the tool rest close to the wood seems to help and I might be too aggressive.

I bought this to see if I wanted to use carbide tools for bowl turning instead of a standard bowl gouge. It works, and works well. I'd definitely recommend it. However, the bar the carbide tip attaches to isn't stainless, and will begin to rust quickly out of the package if not maintained. For the price though, it was worth scrubbing it clean and adding a little oil.

Very very surprised. You definitely get more than you pay for. These are on the same quality level as some of my hundred and fifty dollar tools. They are razor sharp and the carbide is extremely durable. I highly recommend these.

How did I turn for so many years without this tool? I needed it for cutting on the right side of the tool. An example is shown in the picture. Cutting the post in the middle of the bowl is difficult and rough with the normal turning tool. Very sturdy tool and I love the flat side to lay on the tool rest- more stable. So far is still sharp and have used the same side of the disc cutter for many turnings.

Used for turning larger pieces. Works well. The flat shaft makes it easier to put the tool on the tool rest in the correct orientation.
