This is a great holster for a S&W governor. This was the third holster I had tried, granted only the second that was specifically developed for the Governor. It fits beautifully, and holds the firearm securely (AKA this sucker isn't going to fall out anytime soon), but at the same time it is not overly difficult to draw the firearm if it is needed (with practice). I am a bit concerned about how well it will hold together with prolonged use, but so far I am very happy with this purchase, and would purchase other holsters from this company. One negative (to some people), there is no securing strap that goes across the back of the firearm (i.e. under the hammer), but the hold on the holster is so great that I did not think that this was a critical loss.

Excellent holster. However, it is not as pictured. It is tan, but only has one set of belt loops (i.e., angle is not adjustable). (The photoshopped removal of the belt in the picture is also confusing, at first.) It is interesting that Amazon has another product for the DeSantis scabbard holster that shows the correct picture, including color, but it is for a black version of this holster. The Scabbard fits the S&W Govenor perfectly. It is tight upon receipt, but placing the gun in an athletic sock wrapped with wax paper overnight loosens it up to exactly the right combination of smooth extraction and snug retention. Highly recommended for the Govenor.

Craftsmanship is decent. Draw is very difficult due to high ride and the fact that the leather is thin and flimsy. Overall, an ok holster.

I use this with a Smith and Wesson Governor. There were not a lot of holster options out there when I purchased it, so I was glad to find it. I have used DeSantis holsters before, they had always used good quality leather, and this product was no different. I carry with this holster whenever I go out to the woods, and it actually provides decent concealment when I have to stop on the way. As you can see from the picture the bulk of it will ride fairly high, so you don't have to worry about the barrel sticking out of the bottom of your shirt.My favorite part about the holster is the fit, and how much of the gun it covers. The hammer is covered and the retention is just right after a few wears. Because it sits so deep in the holster it does not have to strangle the gun so much to make you feel like it is not coming out. This aspect also provides for a smooth and fast draw. I purchased this holster with one other one, but only use this now. I have had it for about six months, and the leather is wearing nicely. I will surely get several years of good use out of it.
