Designed for FAKRO Telescopic Window Pole Opener for Skylight Roof Windows & Blinds (1.1m - 2.0m)

We've just had an extension built which has a velux window (Dakea brand). We didn't want to keep getting a step ladder out to open the window or stand on a chair so looked around for a pole. My husband really didn't think we would get one that would work as you have to twist the handle on the window. As the pole could be returned if it didn't work we decided we had nothing to lose and bought one. We're really pleased we did as it works brilliantly! It also arrived three days earlier than I was expecting (two days within ordering it). It extends out to make a really long pole (although the contracted length suits us) and is easy to hide away.

Bought to make opening/closing a Velux window at the top of a staircase in a loft conversion easier. The pole extends smoothly and auto locks with buttons which depress easily to close again. It’s lightweight and stores easily in a cupboard. The plastic fitting at the end used to attach to the window handle seems sturdy but care should be used not to twist the pole too much as this could put pressure on the plastic loop. We are fortunate that we can open the window handle by hand and just use the pole to push open and pull down the window again.

I bought this shorter version, but it did not last long, as only about a year or so later, now the little spring holding the extender part in place dropped out as its plastic stud broke off and now if the pole needs to be used, it has to be kept extended with gaffer tape or something stronger than sticky tape. Being disabled, I use it to open and close curtains as well as opening a high window. Very disappointed that it is not strong enough for daily use.

Great tool , light weight but strong, much better than my homemade effort.

Easy to use, easy to store.

As above, the product does what it says on the tin, after a fashion. Why do I say that? Well, you can open your high-level Velux windows with it, but it is not an altogether easy thing to do. That said, it's the ONLY product of its type on the market - as far as I can see [certainly Velux themselves don't have one - DoH!] and, to be fair, I don't have in mind a better design. So, in that sense, it about as good as it gets.So, if you have a Velux at high level, which you want to be able to open/shut, I think this product - for all its failings - is your best bet.

Easy to use ,does the job but could be stronger on the opener as in its plastic,could be metal,see how long it lasts...

Perfect for the purpose I intended which was to hook into the handle of my windows.
