Works great
It’s not often that something works as well as advertised! If you’re building a motorized bike, this is a must have! Throw the idler tensioner that comes with the motor kit in the garbage. This spring tensioner is hassle free! You won’t be sorry you bought it

Overview
I recommend this for any engine. Be careful because the spring can pop off if you accidentally kick it and your pant leg can get caught on it

Review, important need to knows, installation guide
All in all this is a great product and I do recommend it from the stock chain tensioner that comes with your motorized engine bike kit.I do wish the spring had more tension to it and that the screws/bolts weren’t made of aluminum because I have had one snap on me.Also for those who have higher cc engines or torque make sure your chain is tight before installation because when you do engage your clutch even slowly at high speeds the bottom of the Chain fully pulls on the tension wheel and if the chain is not tight enough will cause slack in the upper part of chain and cause your chain to lock up in your housing and will bring your tires to a dead stop or if your lucky will break your chain either way it would not be safe or funThe installation process is very simple even though it doesn’t come with any instructions it goes as follows:Step 1The set up process is very simple I have found it easier to connect one side of the spring to the curved side of the mounting plate where the 2 small holes are (The top hole would have more tension then the bottom one)Step 2Out of the 5 screws/bolts and 2 locking nuts and 2 washers that come with the tensioner use ONLY the small screw/bolt and locking nut to attach the tensioner arm to the mounting plateStep 3Remove original screw from the housing cover and place tensioner plate over housing cover and use the 3 Similar screws/bolts to mount the tensioner plate on top of the housing cover and tighten in new screwsStep 4Take the biggest screw/bolt and add 1 washer then the chain tensioner wheel then the other washer then locking nut to any of the 4 large holes on the tensioner arm(IMPORTANT MAKE SURE THERE IS A WASHER ON BOTH SIDES ON THE TENSIONER WHEEL)Step 4Connect spring from tensioner plate to tensioner arm

better than the stock option
Adjustable tension and good placement make this a worthy alternative to the factory tensioners for 2 stroke bicycle kits. Make sure to use plenty of light grease. After a few years and hundreds of miles the bearing hasn't shown very much wear at all. Some side play but not a huge deal

Nice Kit, But...
I got this kit as part of a 3 part bundle. I was thinking about upgrading to this kind of setup so I jumped on this opportunity. It's a pretty good kit now that it's installed but I do have 2 negative points to bring up. Like a lot of these kits there are not instructions included. But there are lots of photos on the internet to check and it becomes pretty obvious as you're putting it together how it's supposed to go. The other point is the hardware. The 3 bolts that hold the main plate to the side of the clutch cover are wrong. I had to go to the hardware store and get what was correct. The bolt heads will clip the petal crank as it rotates around. Also one of the bolts needs to be longer for the chain guard attachment. I got appropriate pan-head screws and fixed both of those problems.

Not for Bicycles
One Star is solely due to the fact that this should not be listed under Bicycle accessories, because it is not for Bicycle.Designed for Motorcycle only !

It works well 👍
The media could not be loaded. It works well 🧐 keeps the chain tight 😚 it's a must if your bike has rear suspension 🚴

Love it
I run my chain close to straight chain and use this because it helps keep the chain on over rough terrain.this takes care of any flex caused by suspension which changes chain tension.
