Great hitch step, but buy a 12" 4pin trailer wiring extension
I do like the product, however it does have drawbacks too. This is my second one. The first was also a brake light Bully, but it was black. I kept it about 6 years on my old tundra, the black looked great against the silver truck. The black one, however, faded considerably quicker than the rerst of the black equipment on the truck, and that did bother me. I wanted one for the new Tundra though, so I decided to leave the old one on the truck and buy a new one. I bought the one that was chrome. Its a lot nicer than I thought it would be. It seems solid and weatherproof, but time will tell. Since Toyota started putting the trailer wiring connection in the middle of the bumper instead of underneath, the pigtail from the hitch step is too short. Don't get me wrong, it barely fits, but the wiring is pulled taunt and is very visible, making a horrible look to it. I plan on buying a 12 to 18 inch 4 pin wiring extension and run it under the bumper and behind the license plate, which should allow it to work while still remaining mostly unexposed. so, a few more bucks, big deal.Oh, if you have a truck, get the 600 model. The plastic piece which fits on the 605 model tends to make the connection to the hitch receiver either too tight or too loose. It will rattle if you don't use the shims. Haven't noticed it on the 600 model yet, which is ONLY for the 2" hitch receiver. All in all, very happy with this product.

A step above
I chose this particular step for my Honda Ridgeline because it doesn’t just look like a clunky/blocky step. And, I chose the chromed version versus the powder coat because powder coat will chip. And, over time the chipped areas will bubble and rust. I’ve had powder coated steps on other trucks and after a year or two the rusting becomes extremely noticeable. Also, the chromed version of the step perfectly matches the chromed side steps I had previously installed. The only negative I’ve detected is that the black coated tongue on the step almost immediately began to discolor (rust). Maybe this was partly due to the fact that we live in a high road salt region. However, I applied a coat of black rust converter/sealant and the problem seems to have been solved.Regardless, the step looks great and it serves the function I purchased it for. I would recommend it highly.

Bully Hitch Mount Step
Delivery was fairly quick as usual with Amazon. The step is exactly as described. We bought a shell for our Dodge Ram truck bed so that my wife and I can travel and camp in the back. The shell has a nice rear door (opens vertically like an actual door) so that you can just step inside and close the door behind you (no tailgate or horizontal lift type door). The problem is that the back of the truck sits quite high and my wife had trouble stepping up to the bumper. We had previously used a plastic step stool to make this access but it was inconvenient as it always had to be stowed when traveling and was fairly large. The Bully Step definitely solves that problem. The tolerance(gap)between the step insert and the receiver varies by hitch brand I'm assuming as the little plastic wedge could not be installed exactly as per the instructions. Very little clearance in my case. I did manage to get it wedged in enough to function as intended though. Although we haven't done any real traveling since installing it, I have maybe put 100 miles on the truck just running errands etc and I can't hear any rattle or noise from the installation so the concept seems to work. The build quality looks good and there are no issues that I can see. Bear in mind that a 4 star rating from me is about the best I ever give as I reserve the top rating for something that far exceeds my expectations. My only hesitation to give it 5 stars is the fact that once installed it really isn't much lower than the bumper itself so it's still a bit difficult for my wife to make that first big step. It does extend back though which makes the footing and entry to the truck bed much more secure than trying to step on the narrow bumper itself. If it had been designed with a compound angle to position it one or two inches lower, it would have been perfect.

Nice item, strong, easily installed.
Item is exactly as described and was easy to install. The only negative thing I can think of after having the Step installed for a couple of months now is that the metal square tube that inserts into the received is starting to rust. I didn't expect this since it seems to be either power coated or painted.I can imagine it will get worse over time - my truck is in great condition and it frustrates me every time I see the rust on the Step. Will have to remove it from the truck, sand it down, and hit it with some black rustoleum I suppose.Update: 2/2/2013. Still holding up well on my Jeep. Wiring and chrome is all in tact, but rubber and plastic is starting to fade due to UV (the Jeep sits at a train station all day). I use Back to Black to bring back the black, and all is well again. Also, the plastic lens over the LED lights seems to oxidize frequently. I use Scratch X 2 on a rag and buff it out, good as new. I love this item.Update: 1/9/2014. Still on my truck. The plastic end caps on the hitch (that cover the metal tubes) has cracked in many places and fallen off. Assume this is due to UV exposure. The clear lens covering the LED light is starting to haze up from the inside now, and I'm not able to remove it with Scratch-X. Wiring is still in like-new condition, and it every LED still lights up as they should. Still highly visible at night. Haven't been hit from behind, so don't really know how this will stand up to a bumper bump, but probably going to take this off soon and replace with a folding hitch step.
