I have used it I guess backwards and it works well with my 13 year old disabled daughter in the sofa. its built well and the price you cant beat. now bundle it with some seatbelt covers and you have a nice set up.

Well made, however, it's black color makes it inconspicuous; thus in an emergency, people may not notice it and release the wearer from it. The straps should be a bright easily noticeable color and the buckles even more so.The description lacks any clear indication that it requires 3rd party intervention to release the wearer from it.This product is useful in some special limited circumstances where physical restraints might be necessary, but the wearer must be monitored at all times during its use.Definitely not recommended for use by the general public.

Not easy to use for a disabled person. You have to put it on before sitting down and then someone has to buckle you in and cinch it down for you. In an emergency, you cannot get out of the chair or scooter without help from someone else.

Im using it on a dinning chair for my 5 yr old during meal time. Im very happy.Before this belt, i would have to chase her every 3-5 mins to sit her down (she has autism) this helps her to actually eat her meal.

I bought this for my aunt for Christmas. She's in a wheelchair and unable to sit up by herself very well but needs to ride paratransit to and from her appointments. This was being used by trained nurses properly, and broke the other day. Imagine if this had broken while she was on the bus! Not safe! Very dangerous!!!

With this harness I can finally use the wheelchair that's been collecting dust in my garage. A wheelchair or some kind of mobility chair is needed if I want to take my adult step-son with Autism out and about, however, without a harness I'm just asking for trouble. I was very happy to find this one on Amazon!

I never got a chance to use this wheelchair seat belt, as my husband was hospitalized shortly after receiving it, and never came home.That being said, however, I was somewhat perplexed as to how to position the seatbelt in my cursory inspection of it; it seems you need to put it on the seat while the chair is empty and then fasten it around the patient, which would mean that you need to get the adjustments pretty close to how they need to be - I think.I ordered this seat belt over others because it looked like it would accomplish what was needed and be more comfortable for my husband, and I still believe that to be true.
