One point to note is that the rod hole diameter is different for the pieces, but the ring diameter and length are the same on all. Therefore, on a skinner rod the replacement tip looks a little bulky (bigger than the 2nd eye), especially since it is heavy duty and the gold ring insert is double in thickness/color stands out. Other tip replacements adjust the ring diameter/length in proportion to the rod hole diameter but not this one.That being said, not deducting a star since it's clearly stated in the description. My bad for not noticing and it doesn't really effect the functionality. This is one of the few heavy duty wrapless tip design replacements available.Build quality is very good and heavy duty. Have not tested it for saltwater corrosion or on a fish yet but it seems to be made out of stainless steel and should hold up well. Replacing it on my kids cheap rod so aesthetics is not a big deal. I wouldn't proactively replace my nice Fuji tips on my better rods, but it definitely feels better/sturdier than most original tips on cheaper rods.Most of my rods have black guides so a black color option would have been better than the silver. I just colored mine with a sharpie to stand out less.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the package containing these rod tips. I use rather large rods for saltwater fishing and it's hard to find replacement tips in stores for these thick rods. These exactly fit the bill! A good assortment of very nice looking tips with large tube diameters that will fit these larger rods that I use. And for the price that it cost me to go and get a one replacement tip installed at a bait and tackle store. If you are using a 7-1/2ft or larger rod with a larger diameter tip you cannot go wrong having these on hand just in case. A little glue from a hot-melt gun and your back in business.Yyou can see in the picture of a rod tip I recently repaired with on of these and just how nice it looks..

Just a good fit, but quality is fair

Moved 2 yrs back and the mover broke the tips of 5 rods.. The rods are an average of $300 each. Local tackle shop wants $100 each to repair and an indeterminate amount of time.. I've repaired all but 1 rod as I need a particular guide.. The repairs look great and have held up the last 2 trips no problem

Looks well made. Nice there is difference size and nice storage box. Replaced on my intercoastal ugly stick saltwater rod.

I do a lot of emergency rod tip repairs so this assortment of sizes is nice to have on hand.
