First of all, the "review" here by "DoINeedAName" is a shill review - the giveaway is that this reviewer gives 5 stars to everything else by the compiler of this publication.This presents the Greek text and an English text, and nothing else, no introduction, no notes, no nothing. The English and Greek is not side by side, rather it presents book 1 in English, then book 1 in Greek, book 2 in English, book 2 in Greek and so on. The source of the Greek text used is not mentioned. The English text, though nowhere here credited to him, is that of Méric Casaubon of 1634, which while old is actually not too bad in terms of readability (and in fact it compares favourably to the pseudo-KJV language used by C. R. Haines in his 1916 translation for the Loeb edition, the only other readily available Greek text of Marcus).The fundamental flaw with this book however, which renders it largely useless, is that Casaubon's divisions into both books and chapters do not match the modern day standard divisions and are in fact quite significantly different. For example the modern division of chapters 2.1 - 2.3 is found as Casaubon's 1.15 - 1.17, which means that these three do not of course correspond to the modern 1.15 - 1.17, and then of course Casaubon's 2.1 - 2.3 bear no relation to the modern 2.1 - 2.3, and because of the way the book is arranged it is a pain to say the least to try to match up between English and Greek text. And this is far from an isolated example.Give this a miss. Stick with the Loeb edition and its facing Greek/English pages, even if it is a bit more expensive.
