This has helped tremendously with perimenopause symptoms. I'm over peri now but a year ago I was struggling with hormone fluctuations, feelings of under skin crawling and phantom bug bites, as well as some hair loss. Macalife really helped reduce these symptoms AND helped with my hair growing back (which I think more due to the potassium since I drink coffee and tea daily and both those can burn up Magnesium and potassium by the body but still it did help with my hair growing back). Great product though I think it's overpriced.

This product is making a marked difference for me as I move into perimenopause. I have been using for a few years and will continue to purchase.

At the advice of a friend, I bought some of this (perimenopausal formula), and I sooo hoped it would work within the first week. It doesn't, but it doesn't claim to. It was delivered 7 August, and here I am at 28 August, and I've gone from I-don't-know-how-many hot flashes per night to about 2. They were making me miserable and were, frankly, startling in their intensity. Of course, my sleep was terribly disrupted--you wake up hot as hell, lying in a soaked sheet, and you have to find a way to move out of the wet spot without disturbing the husband and the dog. It's just not a good scene. Anyway, I'm going to be on this stuff until it stops working. If you're having hot flashes/night sweats, give it a try. Don't expect instant gratification. Give it a month.

It works well, but did not help with night sweats.

This product is wonderful. I have used it off and on for 3 years. I use it generally 3 months at a time. It has assisted in my cycle being more regulated. I have also noticed a huge difference in menstrual symptoms. It is definitely worth a try if you have any cycle struggles.

I'm a skeptic by nature, so my expectations for this product weren't high. It was recommended to me by a friend who learned about it from her doctor, and used it with success to improve her energy levels. While pre-menopausal energy levels were a concern for me, the main motivation in trying the product was that hot flashes were pretty much ruining my work life and my ability to sleep. So I gave it a try. I took just one capsule a day for about a week, and one morning I woke up and realized I hadn't had a hot flash all night. I was jubilant -- no more night sweats and hot flashes. I can hardly convey how much maca has improved my life. . .it was like a minor miracle. The package instructions recommend a higher dosage than I use, but if I take two capsules, it keeps me up at night. My energy level the first couple of weeks was amazing -- I felt like the Energizer bunny -- which spurred me to investigate maca. There was little useful information on the internet, but I came to find out the maca is used frequently in Peru, where it grows, as an energy booster. I've been told by a friend who spent 2 months in Peru, that maca gets sprinkled on things the same way we sprinkle salt. In order to test if it was the maca that stopped my hot flashes rather than some other coincidence, I stopped taking it for 10 days. The hot flashes returned. I don't know if maca works for all women, but for me it has been a total lifesaver. I encourage anyone who is suffering to give it a try. It's not a hormone therapy; it works by supporting the body's hormone production system. So far, no negative side effects, and at least three positive areas of marked improvement. I an eternally grateful to have found this product; I can't imagine the torture of suffering years of hot flashes and night sweats.UPDATE: the product stopped working in regard to the hot flashes after 3 or 4 months. It was; however, worth it to have the 4 months of relief during the worst of the suffering, so no regrets. I find it still has other beneficial effects, and would still recommend it.

I did experience improved energy levels right away when I first took this product and generally felt good the first 2-3 weeks after starting. But then, my stomach started hurting shortly each time after taking it and the bloating was painful and uncomfortable. I cut the dosage to one pill a day but did not improve, and the energy levels that I had experienced were taken away by having to lie down in a fetal position to push through the constipation and bloating. I ended up taking Tums regularly and feeling awful throughout most of the day. The discomfort finally ended after three days of weaning off of the supplement.I would not recommend this product. I feel much better now. Even though my energy levels are not as high as they were when I first started taking it, they are not so bad. Better than being totally unproductive and miserable while in a fetal position to fight off the constipation pain.

I’ve been taking these for years now. I first learned about this from watching YouTube videos on helping w hormones. Since taking it regularly I can tell a huge difference. I no longer feel cranky, I have good energy, my weight hasn’t changed but I’m working on that. I ordered from the website but found out Amazon sells them so I’ll be getting from here along with other things I usually order. One stop shop!
