I live in the south and it gets really hot, but I don’t like to sleep without something on top of me. This is perfect, but my husky loves to sleep on top of it too.

Listen, I HATED spending this much on a blanket but due to some very extreme hormonal changes myself and my husband having always been a walking space heater, I was desperate.I CANNOT sleep without something over top of me. That’s how the monsters get you. I don’t need my ankle being snatched by the babadook in the middle of the night, so I ordered this blanket with some cooling sheets.How???? How does this work??? I don’t know, and honestly, I keep reading the word nasa and at this point I assume it’s out of my intellectual skill levels to understand. But I do know this! This blanket stays COLD.The first night we slept under this blanket we both slept like boulders. Not rocks. Boulders.He didn’t get hot from my radiating super heat and aside from having to steal the blanket back from him (and my side of the bed), no heat problems! I was seriously thinking I’d have to sleep somewhere else for the summer, but this has solved the problem!Also this blanket is STUPID soft and comfortable so be prepared to fight over it.Full warning we discovered - if your husband/partner is a snuggler like mine and they manage to trap you underneath it while they’re sleeping, you WILL die of a heat stroke lol. I don’t know how the temperature regulation works but as soon as you wrap that around something putting off heat it makes it ten times hotter. I guess that’ll make it good for winter too!

I’ve tried so many comforters claiming to help with night sweats but this Dream Valley cooling comforter finally delivered, thanks to its incredible NASA-inspired Outlast Thermo-Technology. I’m so disappointed. I bought this comforter at no small expense after loving the pillow cases. I didn’t expect that after one wash the threads would be unraveling. I followed the care instructions. I’ve had this barely over one month. It’s supremely disappointing considering how expensive this is. What a shame.

After doing a small amount of research (after the fact), the important thing here is the Outlast material/technology. This PCM (phase changing material) stuff is pretty interesting. Of course it doesn’t work miracles; it can’t replace an A/C unit. And a “cooling blanket” seems counterintuitive. I don’t feel like it really cools much, but is cool to the touch (for a few seconds at least). It can keep you warm like any other comforter/blanket. I’ve had it long enough to be able to use it in various ambient temperatures from cool to warm. It kept me warm but did not overheat during cooler temperatures. And when it was warmer, it didn’t really cool but didn’t really warm either. Weird, it kept things comfortable. Any noticeable effects will be subtle. It says so right on the box, “temperature balance - not too hot, not too cold”.The comforter/blanket itself is very soft; silky feeling. It feels very nice against the skin. There is a nice blue border sewn around the entire piece, which is Ivory colored. All stitching is very nice and neat. The fabric is always cool to the touch. It’s about 3/8“thick and there’s some weight to it, about 3-4 pounds (queen size). There was a bit of an odor out of the package, but it quickly aired out and is fine now. I guess if your expectations aren’t too high about a product that calls itself “cooling”, you’ll be fine. A nice quality item for sure, but $280.00 nice? Three and three quarter stars.

I never write reviews but had to take the time to rave over how heavenly this blanket is! I live in Florida and am a hot sleeper. I can’t sleep without a blanket and had another cooling blanket that eventually lost its coolness. So far this blanket is perfect, so excited for sound, cool sleep!
