Excellent quality, just as shown.
An excellent book series for young adults, with a gripping plot line alternating between the views of several main characters. While I highly recommend the book series, this 5 book set is a cheaper alternative to buying all 5 books individually in store or online. I had purchased the first book in the series, Raven's Gate, separately from Waterstone's, and I wanted to buy the whole series together to save money.I bought this from Lowplex with Amazon Prime for £15.81. All 5 books arrived wrapped together in clear film, and there was no visible damage or ruffles, suggesting this set was in fact 5 brand new books.Attached are 3 angles of the first book, with the left edition the one I received as part of this set, and the other I purchased from the high street. I note that the set book has a smooth, glossy surface, while the right high street edition is textured (with the title and the image of the raven slightly raised), though this could be attributed to storage requirements for the 5 set. They are both identical in paper quality and text quality inside, with identical contents, so I rest assured that this is an official book.Overall, this is a great bargain, with an individual book selling for £7.99, whereas you can get the whole set for less than double the price. A high quality purchase!

a great read for fantasy/supernatural fans
read these first a few years back and honestly they are one of my favourite series in the supernatural ( I guess) quest/adventure style. For adults as well ( I am 50 and def no longer a teen) - the depth and writing of these far outweighs anything else I've read from Horowitz. Without giving too much away, begins as a weird creepy supernatural experience (set def in this world, in current day, with a boy who has got into trouble and sent to a kind of rural foster care) and develops across the next five books into a dystopian, multi layered, end of the world apocalyptic epic. The premise: Five kids (the boy in the first is one of them) all experiencing strange things, all living in very different circumstances (a street boy in Peru, orphaned twins in the US, an asian girl from maybe China way, an English boy from south London) see eachother in dreams without knowing why, or who eachother are. Horowitz has researched well, and creates a reality that is utterly believable, crosses cultures, and builds/develops to a place you could never have predicted, when you first started reading. Would esp recommend to anyone who liked Susan Cooper ('the dark is rising') as a kid, then moved onto Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Lovecraft etc tho for over 11yrs I'd say, teens and adults but might be too creepy for kids, tho depends on the kid:)

Great series for a great price
£13 for a five book series is incredible value for money. I loved this series when I was younger - it was what got me into Anthony Horowitz novels who’s become a huge inspiration for my own writing - and wanted to reread years later. Character and plot development are amazing. It’s so creepy and mysterious. Love it

Buy them
I read these books years ago in secondary school and randomly the other night, over 10 years later I start thinking about them so I bought them and I can’t put them down in on the third book already such a wonderful series if you like things to do with magic and fantasy and suspenseful books I’d definitely recommend them :)

Written for Younger people ~ however
My niece read these and she went on and on about how wonderful they were. Each day I was bombarded by what was happening within the chapter that she had read the previous evening. I must admit it sounded good. I bought myself a set of these books and I liked them so much I bought the box set of Alex Rider.Message is ~ Not just for kids, wonderful books by a great storyteller . (I am in my 60's)
