My 11 yr old daughter and I put this together this weekend.First off. Instructions are tiny and hard to read/see. (I wear glasses & daughter has good eyes)I took a photo on my phone and used that, still kinda blurry but readable.the nuts are wooden.wood is easily breakable, be careful not to strip the nuts and break the panels.produces large, un-lowerable ding sound when: turning on / connecting bluetooth / disconnecting bluetooth (if youre trying to stay quiet, this wont be on your side)easily connectable via bluetooth. it just showed up on our list when adding a new device. conencted rigtht away and began playing audio.works perfectly.not a whole lot of bass, but the sound is definitely louder and clearer than just a phone (pixel 7 pro)We used it to give us music while bbqing ribs and it worked flawlessly.When one of our neighbors decided to turn their beats up, we did have to bring out the "big system" but for normal quiet times, this is more than enough.This will be the daughters for her time in the backyard.Fun project and usable.4/5

STEM projects are popular and we've had the monthly subscription box in the past so when I saw this DIY Bluetooth speaker project at a good price I picked it up for my 12 yr old son. This is what he has to say.He loved getting to put together a bluetooth speaker. He hated the directions - found them incomplete and didn't teach him anything. He loves that he can customize the speaker box with markers. He doesn't like that the batteries are exposed on the bottom. We tested the speakers - and turned the volume about 3/4 high before the distortion was a problem.
