A great VFM DIY educational product for growing kids .Had a great fun-time with kid assembling it.
A PREVIEW TO PURCHASE:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxMy 6 year old kid is quite obsessed with countries, Flags, Solar system & planets .Hence when I came across this product while online surfing, It just ticked - all the right boxes for a nice little Do-It-yourself educational activity fun.ABOUT OUR PRODUCT:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxThe product was received in 3 days & here are my overall observations of the complete purchase.1. The product set is a Chinese product imported by various indian distributors. In our case it was imported by kumar toys in February 2018.2. The packing was casual & disappointing as the outer packet of the set was all crushed open. Thankfully inner items were all intact.3. This toy set includes -:a.) A pair of 9 white colored plastic semi-spheres including a pair for sun & 8 other pairs for 8 planets of solar system. The semi-spheres can be fitted together to form various planets & sun.b.) A little paint brush & a set of 7 colors in little plastic containers.c.) A circular plastic base for supporting the system & interconnecting rods & parts.d.) A 1x1 inch 0 size fine emery paper to scrub the spheres before painting for better colour adhesion over rough surfaces. However its much less in quantity required.e.) An instruction booklet for assembling of structure printed in chinese & english.f.) Two paper rings to be fitted over the sphere of Saturn.4. Each interconnecting rod of varying size has a miniature embossing of the planet name & its distance from sun.5. The product is rated for kids above 8 years of age however in my opinion kids these days are smarter & it’s well suited for lids 6 years & above.6. The distance from end to end planets stretched apart on opposite sides is approximately 30 cms.7. The overall construction quality of the included plastic parts is quite decent given the price.8. The paint has to be applied over each spherical planet and dried. Inclusion of white color while painting gives a feeble “Glow in dark “ effect.9. I got it for 374 bucks which is quite reasonable in my opinion.FINAL VERDICT:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI have included an all-painted, all complete snapshot of the product & I must admit that after an initial fear & annoyance of giving too much efforts in painting etc. Finally it was a great fun DIY activity with my kid.Such a decent quality , decent VFM , educational product clubbed with fun of team activity is highly recommended.

Good teaching aid - but you need to work on it. Read the review
Purchased this as a teaching aid for my wife - who is a teacher. There is nothing extraordinary about this teaching aid/educational tool ... however, I give it 4 stars for the sheer reason that it was available. When I compare the price vs benefit it is definitely worth 4 stars. It is sturdy enough to use with a little caution - as a teaching aid. As an educational tool - children will break it soon.PROS:~ Well-made and helpful teaching aid~ The arms have the planet name and the approximate distance etched~ The pieces fit well if you choose the right ones~ Great price. I purchased for just over Rs 200 ... it's definitely a useful alternative to my wife/kid making a project.CONS:~ The spheres are white - and you will need to colour them.~ Simple water-colour provided which will not stick to the plastic and give a dull finish. I had to use markers (luckily I had a set of colour permanent markers.)~ The manual shows a wrong way to fit the planets, they hit each other if rotated toether. See my picture for the right method.~ The original piece seems to have been made for 9 planets. Now when we fit for 8 planets, there is a gap (in my picture, you can see this gap at the axis area between Mercury and Venus)

Read product details before you buy.
Idea is good but it’s a bit delicate and small as compared to the image shown. Otherwise it’s a nice way to teach kids about planets and a good activity too.

I will not recommend this product at all.
This product quality is not good, can't handle it properly. Planets size is too small. Water color quality is worst. This product cost is not more than 150rs. Instead buy one good book of solar system. Very cheap product.
