I have been using massage balls on my back and shoulder on the recommendation of my physiotherapist to recover from shoulder surgery. I started with a tennis ball and moved from there to a firm lacrosse ball.This "peanut "massager is made of a light but very hard material with little give. This makes it very good for getting into muscle knots but you will need to be fairly gentle with it if you are unaccustomed to using such a firm ball. The peanut shape makes it suitable for massaging larger areas than a simple trigger point. The shape also makes it far less likely to roll away and disappear as I find is frequently the case with my lacrosse ball.

I have used this solely for the area where my neck meets my shoulders as this can get quite knotted.I quite like just sitting with it in that area and pressing on to it while on the sofa or sitting as a passenger in the car.I suspect I could be using it for other areas of my body but this is what I have prioritised it for. It’s hard so don’t expect it to be comfortable!

The ball part can be used as a pressure point tension reliever to help with muscle knots. Easy to use, and very portable. Though you might have to hide it from your dog, as it does look like a bone!

The packaging is too simple and should contain a holding bag which will keep the massager clean. The item is made of solid materials, and the feet are able to effectively reach the muscle groups that need to be relaxed. It is brightly coloured and it is easy to notice that it is not easily lost. The surface of the massager is not smooth and does not roll easily on a flat surface. The peanut style design can effectively increase the contact area.
