Excellent computer for those wanting to upgrade
The specs, battery life and reputation of Asus Zenbook speaks for itself. No technical issues encountered after almost a year of usage - none whatsoever. Keep up the good work Asus.

Not waranted through Asus.
You should know that according to ASUS the warranty on this is expired through Asus even though it is brand new. Mine broke and found this out from Asus. The seller says they will fix it. Amazon won't do anything other than contact the seller for you. If you want a Zen book that is not covered by the actual manufacturer. Then this is the Zen book for you.Good LuckUpdate: Took the zen book in for repair and was told by the repair shop that the parts inside had been replaced before and were not original. So they are selling as brand new something that is really refurbished.

Died after less than 10 hours of use
Bought in November. Went on an extended trip to Malaysia. Laptop died within hours of starting to use it, while abroad, so I could not return it or exchange it. Tried all I could to restart, including the 40 second power button method - nothing worked. Contacted Asus cust. serv. via chat, I was told I will have to send it in for repairs, IN US ! Despite Asus having lots of stores and selling lots of Asus products locally here in Malaysia, including laptops and this particular model, cust. serv. said repairs can only be done in US. Unlike other brands like Dell.... I recall one of my older Dell XPS died after more than 1 year of use while in Austria (Dell XPS had 2 year warranty at the time), Dell sent a local technician to my home and he had a replacement motherboard shipped overnight from USA ! Dell XPS laptop fixed within 48 (or 72) hours from contacting their customer service ! Needless to say, I regret buying this Asus which most likely is my first and last. I realize now is better to spend more for a more reliable brand with great warranty and service, especially for people who travel extensively. I'll report back after I return to US and have the laptop serviced.
