I really like the tank but the "Ultra Clear Acrylic" sides I received are definitely not clear. They are made from a frosted acrylic material like you would find in a bathroom. And yes, I peeled off the protective film! I am returning it, hoping the replacement will have the clear sides as shown in the description and other reviewer's photos. My poor baby turtle will have to stay in the glass baking dish for the next few days!

My turtle likes her new home. The old tank was plain and boring. And she always tried to get out. Now she’s calm and she looks relaxed in this tank. And also I would like to let everyone know that if your turtle is 3 inches and longer in length then the turtle is strong enough to move the waterfall tube to a direction. This happened to me and the waterfall was on when i left the house and my turtle turned the tube to the direction of the fence (plastic divider) and the water traveled through underneath the fence and slowly spilling out and the water was on the ground and my extension cord that was used to plug the tank got wet but luckily I didn’t leave for to long and nothing bad happened. I would suggest turning off the waterfall when your gone and push the tube down hard so that it’s tight and secured when you decide to turn it on so that the turtle doesn’t accidentally pushes it towards the fence and start leaking water.

My turtle just died, she got a respiratory infection and when I took her to the doctor she asked me about her tank life. She was concerned about the lighting especially, so I sent her picture of the light and the box. Please see her response. Please DONT let your turtles die the light is not enough for a red ear slider baby anyway. Here is her direct reply;That bulb is not nearly enough UV (it is a 3.0 and I recommend at least 10.0) and it produces NO heat. So, you need either a combo UV/heat bulb or a new heat bulb and a new UV bulb.One example of a bulb that would cover both would be an 80 watt Powersun if kept at the right distance (you'll have to read the packaging and measure temperatures!)

Came broke, side is cracked and the. Light won’t stay on. Had to order dif light bc it won’t tighten on the plexy glass. It just spins not righting so then falls
