Beautiful and Great for Soil Aeration
Who knew that rocks could be so stylish? These black lava rocks bring a trendy, volcanic edge to my custom aroid setup. The pros are clear; they’re lightweight, durable, and create the perfect balance of drainage and aeration for my plant roots. Not to mention that my plants are growing like weeds! With these rocks, my aroids are not only growing in a nutrient-rich, soil-less medium but are also showcased in a setup that feels as chic as it is functional. It’s like giving your plants their own high-end spa.

Dusty
Plan on using it for a substrate in an aquarium, pieces are about the same size as aquarium gravel, definitely dusty though, photo is several rinses in. But product is what I expect and is intended for horticulture, not a fish tank

Part of my no-organics cactus mix
This stuff is great, not cheap, but great! I you a 50/50 mix of this & pumice of the same size. It is not possible & I will NEVER get root rot using this mix. It's heavier than pumice so it keeps the pumice in place very well. And it looks 100 times better than pumice alone. Great stuff!

When rinsed it’s great!
My suggestion is a hose and a mesh strainer. That’s what I did. I would not recommend doing it in the house. But when it was all done, the product is excellent! Tired of waiting for pon to be available. I mixed in some small pumice and a little timed released fertilizer. You could use it just the way it is, or customize to your liking. I still use diluted hydroponic fertilizer.

That’s what you get
Product is ok, came beyond dusty and dirty. Like the pea gravel at mendards is less work to clean than this pon. And that says a lot! Can’t plant indoor plants in dirty AF pon. I went through dozens of senders and decided on this one because it was the cheapest ounce for money. There’s a saying in my family, “that’s what you get for 25 cents.” Inside joke, but surely you get the reference. Would’ve rather paid more to spend less time and effort rinsing, it really was that bad.

Succulents
Nice addition to my succulents. If you have a lot of them, better to order two or three bags.
