Not a book to ‘use’ but to return to when you need to renew the smile on your face.
Loved the originality and the heartwarming unreality of the ‘story’ as well as the wonderful illustrations and mail-art surprises inside the book.

Brilliant!
A whimsical tale made even better with a style that enhances the substance. The art of this book is striking and the writing is touching and wonderfully compelling, I especially liked the story descending further into something more ominous and then ending in an impacting way.

Wonderful Item But Over Too Soon
I had high expectations for this book as I'd read the reviews and I love books that are a little different. The book itself is a gorgeous item with lovely illustrations and the act of pulling out the letters to read is exciting, almost as if you're the first person to discover a scrapbook full of someone's memories. What let me down is a few points - most of the pages are just printed; one side the 'front' of the postcard and the other side is the back with the writing on. Only the actual letters are in folded envelopes, so it feels a little like a half-hearted attempt at being different. It also feels a little thin when you first hold it. It took me a grand total of ten minutes to read (much to the amusement of my partner) and I had to read it again to check I hadn't missed anything (I hadn't). You just start getting into the story, feeling the emotions between Griffin and Sabine, wondering about the mystery of Sabine's history and wanting to know more of Griffin's past and their connection, and suddenly it's over. The last page is a little too 'Paranormal Activity' for my liking - rather than being a cliffhanger it just amused me.I recommend this, definitely, but I would suggest that you get your hands on all of the volumes in the series and then start reading. I now have to order the next couple and wait, which doesn't inspire as much excitement as I thought it would.

beautiful book
A beautiful book with a story told in letters and postcards between 2 people who have never met and share some sort of artistic link. An art book as well as a love story and a mystery story, this is a book I do not regret buying. I bought it second hand and the book has another layer of sadness and interest,as the inscription in the front, written by someone to the previous owner says; 'I do not know what this book is about, but I do know that I love you'. So I'm lucky in that I have 2 love stories told through letters in the one volume.
