perfect for IP cameras
These are designed and are perfect for adding mutliple IP cameras to a single ethernet line. Typically fast ethernet is all you need, so no sense paying for a gigabit switch if it's not necessary.The small switch module is mounted inside the weatherproof plastic enclosure via a screw and backing nut, and the protective cover slides up from the bottom like many others do. Depending on the thickness of the ethernet cables you are connecting, I'd recommend silicone or foam to seal up the bottom holes to reduce moisture and bugs from getting inside.This does not appear to include a drill template or screws and only included ~2" diameter hose clamps, so if mounting to a flat surface be advised you will need to find smaller screws on your own, and measure the bolt pattern yourself.My only concern with this switch is that it is intended for outdoor use and has 0 shielding whatsoever for the electronics, only plastic protection from weather elements. At $20 I'm worried a nearby lightning strike will take this out, but only time will tell as it's still winter at the time of this writing. As of right now, everything works as intended and was very easy to install.
