"Go and check it out... but not alone!" "-He means you man!" still very playable in 2016
Excellent tactical shooter. Replayability of terrorist hunt is very high. Good incremental levels of realism ranging from casual to realistic. The realism is the the right areas which is difficult to explain but its what made the original Hitman, Metal Gear Solid, Killzone 1/2 as playable and replayable as they still are.Graphics still cut it by todays standards IMO, and the sounds of the guns and environment are excellent. The terrorists voices are hillarious and make them sound like amateurs, adding depth and fun to an intense tactical battle.Your two man assistant team are just about good enough to be a help rather than a hinderance, and just about bad enough to make you feel like the occasional teamkill. This is one of the genre defining games that got the balance of seriousness and playability almost spot on.

Good game more of a repeat
I got the first game and kudos to Ubisoft I hope your reading these reviews. The cover system in the first one was more solid. This one is more realistic. I've played Rainbow from the first one. My favourite was Ravenshield on PC. Most of the maps from Athena Sword and Ravenshield are back. Like the Oil Refinery etc. Streets is one of the best maps in the game. Presidio is an online favourite. Simply because its straight forward and not too awkward. This game is slower and more tactical. Its more realistic than most games. Lets face it your not going to open a door the way the computer opens it in Call of Duty, Your not gonna go running in there like a deranged hero. Like in real life even the SAS dont go crazy running in. You have to observe before advancing.A few gripes I have with this game is the armour. What an utter waste of time. In the first Vegas game I used to wonder why people were semi naked with no armour. Now in this second game I can see why. Its almost useless. You still lose life at the same speed. You could die from getting shot in the arm even though you have Goliath arm protection on the shoulders arms and torso. Your life fades as if your wearing spandex like your fellow multiplayer online. Also theres a few issues with the effectiveness in the guns. Fair enough some of the enemies are armoured up. why does it take 9 bullets from a TAR or AUG Para to kill an enemy?? Even a bloody commando assualt rifle or a Scar the enemy ends up walking on as if he was shot with a water gun. Believe me Ive knocked a few kids over with a water gun. Its ridiculous. The enemy seems deadly accurate even on Normal. On Realistic good luck if your bad at using cover.Theres been a few complaints with servers. Now fixed though. Theres also a few complaints from people who shoot enemies and they dont die only to be pounded with a Spas 12 shotgun and sometimes you have to tell em over bluetooth I know where your coming from brother. I get that as well. The enemy are deadly accurate with the shotgun. They make it look like there seasoned veterans when it comes to killing people from long range. A shotgun will take you out at 35 metres plus. Which i find ridiculous. Lets face it a shotgun is deadly at close range. At long range it becomes very inaccurate despite 9 bullets coming out at once. They spread you see the logic. Theres also this bulletproof helmet thing going on. You shoot someone in the head with certain guns and the enemy just carries on. So that was a "graze" yar. I wish bullet proof helmets existed then less troops would have died in real life in wars etc.All round a fun action game. Not as unrealistically fast as COD which is understandable. Its a war game its meant to be fast. I prefer this game despite the gripes. They done a good job but it is so similar to the first game. Only with better shinier graphics on the ps3 version not sure about other versions.By the way in case your wondering. ive had the game for 2 weeks and I'm on a high rank so I play it a lot. I havent touched COD4 in months. This game has always reminded me of a certain film. A good game if you like tactical shooters. More of the same though.

The game crashes after a few minutes of game play if I actually get to the start page

I do not see the point of this game...
old games, great for co-op, but graphic and AI will make it unbearable....

GOOD GAME BUT THE CONTROLLER LAYOUT IS PRITTY DODGY.
The story is good and the breach and clears are really good but the controller layout is really weird compared to most shooter games.

Best game on ps3 so far...
This is a great game, the graphics are very good, which is what you would expect, the gameplay is great, like nothing ive played before, so much more interaction than just shoot reload, shoot reload etc etc... great maps, and you can blow through things like tables and even thin walls to shoot people etc, loads of tactics, but not a massive amount that you get confused! overall, a really fantastic game, buy it!

Excellent game for it's price
An excellent game for the price, I purchased this game for it's co-op game modes, which recent games seem to lack more and more due to online gaming. This game is exceptional in terms of co operative play. The main story is of average length and whilst not as great as many modern first person shooter games, I really enjoyed playing through it. I'd reccomend this to anyone looking for a decent first person shooter at a reasonable price, or other people who enjoy co-operative games.

Good, but not 'Call of Duty 4' good
I bought this game about six months ago and I was very impressed by the vast customization of the weapon, appearance, protection etc options. I also liked the rank system of the game. the story mode was relatively easy to get through, although I had to recruit the help of a friend in the nevada desert and villa levels at the end. what was also fun was shooting Gabriel at the end, (it is especially funny is you use a Raging Bull or Desert Eagle!). Although when i connect to the internet, RSV2 went from great to absolutly EXCELLENT! The way you earn xp and glide through the ranks is amazing (when i started off doing PS3 network I was a Corporal, now, 5 weeks later I'm a Captain). The multiplayer versus matches are fantastic, along with co-op story mode and terrorist hunt. The graphics aren't quite as good as one of it's closest rivals, CoD4, nor is the online as good, but i'd rate it at 9/10. If you've just connected up to PSN, one of the first games you should get along with CoD4I hope this review has been helpful and happy gaming!ZRH
