I had a professional bagpipe player try to tune these and they still sounded horrible. They are not made well but the real bagpipes cost over a thousand dollars so you get what you pay for. The drone reeds aren't good for making any sounds that sound like pipes should and the chanter and chanter reeds are not good either. He basically said you can hang this on the wall and thats about all its good for. Amazon will not return this item. Assembly is a nightmare as well since there arent any instructions - only a link to a youtuber who is a professional that I know in person.

I was shocked the quality for the price was so very high... now on to lessons... family might not love it until I can play them well:)

There were no instructions that came with his musical instrument. I had to buy another booklet to understand how the reeds were to be located.

For a beginner set it fits the bill but it was missing a reed and now we have the added expense of finding one to purchase.

Terrible product. No instructions, found a youtube video of what is presumably the manufacturer saying how to put it together, but it didn't work then. If you go through the other reviewer's (Ryan Kelly I think) reviews, you'll find he gave 5 stars to many of this company's bagpipes, which is probably fraud. Don't waste your time, bagpipes are expensive and there are no good cheap ones, get a nice practice chanter instead.

I wish I had listened to Jeff above me and avoided them. I was super excited to get this and was waiting with anticipation. I even had a professional bag piper who has been giving me lessons on a set of pipes he loaned me coming on to I could show him my new pipes I bought; feeling proud on my first set of pipes at a good price.Fast forward, the package arrive with my amazon logo. I am stoked. I get it signed for and bring it in. I open it and Amazon of course never lets me down on how they pack stuff. But I immediately notice the box inside looks like it been opened; and I bought this new. But I decide to open it, cause maybe one of the robots ripped out the staples. No such luck, No instructions as mentioned in earlier review and I am missing the case they claimed would come with this. But I figure I can ignore the case missing and I have a friend who has 30 yrs+ playing bagpipes and even the set he loaned me I could never afford.So I am still feeling excited, got my first set of bagpipes finally that are mine. He walks in and looks it over and comments on cheap bladder, imitation material. But like always he encourages me with "We might can still work with this, lets put it together and see how it sounds". After a little tweaking, we got everything working without removing all plastic because he wanted me to be able to return it. The sound is not the best in world but as he kept saying, neither is your first car. But I am beyond that now, and he said this is not for me but we can make it work with it if I want to keep them, but don't.The item makes it sound like it is professional item for good price, but it an overpriced beginner set. It is imitation and low quality and missing lot of basic items of slightly more priced beginner sets. Few more bucks and you will have better set. So get this for your first car, or ignore it...As my teacher said it would be a great set if you want to skip chanter and test your lungs to learn (and that is a good idea, pipes need strong lungs); but this is far from professional set, professionals spend 500-600$ at the cheap end but normally a LOT more.

Got this for my father for Father's day. He was speechless. He loved it and can't wait to start using it. He said 5 stars.

Garbage. Too hard to get to play because the reeds suck.
