Brilliant. The second best Mad Max film in the world.
What a beauty this is, we've waited a long old time for George Miller to knock out another Mad Max flick and it was worth the wait. Every second of it.Minimal backstory is given but you don't need to know a great deal to get on board with this. The environment and key players are established quickly then it's onto the action with the film barely pausing for breath over the two hour run time. The plot is streamlined to perfection - we meet Immortan Joe, a tyrannical war lord ruling over his people from his lofty Citadel. A small plucky band escape the citadel and set out across the desert with Joe and his minions in hot pursuit. Max finds himself dumped unwittingly in the midst of these strangers problems (again). The film essentially becomes one long chase with our boy along for the ride. And what a ride it is, a high octane blast that just keeps coming at you with increasingly inventive vehicular violence. I think the best way to approach it is to lean back and let the carnage wash over you.Tom Hardy has little to say but plenty to do and he's excellent in the lead role (he has to be to make this work without Mad Mel). Nicholas Hoult puts in a suitably manic turn and Charlize Theron is class as the awesomely named Imperator Furiosa who brings some added steel and a fair amount of heart to proceedings. There's plenty more characters and solid performances to go around including a strong female presence.Visually it all looks stunning and Millers put together another fine piece of work here. It's almost as good as The Road Warrior. Almost.

Great film, spectacular blu ray
This review is not a review about the film ( which I personally loved) there are plenty of reviews out there for that. What this review concerns itself with is the blu ray and what we get for our moneyWhat we do get is the following. We do have a UV copy with the blu ray, always good to have. There are six featurettes on the disc as follows.Maximum Fury- Filming Fury Road (28 mins). An excellent look at the film, the thought processes behind it and how it was shot. This gave great insight into how it came together visually.Mad Max- Fury on Four Wheels (22 mins). A look at all the vehicles of the film abdhow the designs of them came about. As they are so important to the film, this was great to learn more about. The Road Warriors: Max & Furiosa (11 mins). Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron talk about there characters and experiences as does the director George Miller .InsightfulThe tools of the Wasteland (14 mins) .Seeing some of the props. Good to see but limited as outside the vehicles, there were not that many. The Five Wives- So shiny, So Chrome (8 mins). A look at the supporting characters of the film.Fury Road- Crash & Smash (4 mins) A look at an action sequence as it was being filmed. Nice to have but not necessaryThere are three deleted scenes. None of them go very long and none added anything to the story. I can see why they were cutWhat the disc does not containThere is no directors commentary .This I must admit is a tad disappointing .The featurettes do make up for this somewhat, but still would have been good to have. All in all an incredible blu ray release

Mad Max: Fury Road Action Movie Done right
Tom Hardy kinda stars as Mad Max in a practical effect montage. The story is about a commander (Furiosa) who betrays a war lord called Immortan Joe by taking his mistresses, which causes the pursuit and action to get started. Max is caught up in the middle of this. I enjoyed the action of it and the practical effects set it apart from all the cgi films and effects that came out this year in films such as: Jurassic World, The Avengers Age of Ultron. It is fast paced and explosive. The story works, as it's mroe of a trust, survival and redemption story. If I have to find some negatives about the film, I would say that if you want a compelling story this is not the film for you.Pros:-Awesome Action-Lots of times when you think the "hero" has escaped but then gets caught, and the other way around-Film looks beautiful-Plenty of "Money shots"-Practical effects done right-Good to watch with some friends-Quick to get going-One of the best action movies to come out this yearCons:-Not much in terms of a compelling story (Then again why would you want that in a Mad Max film)-Not really a story about Max (Close to the original though so not that much of a bad thing)-You are either going to like it or you will not.Mad Max: Fury Road I would recommend just as it had me on the edge of my seat for the action, the cool visuals and plenty to enjoy.
