Good and sophisticated glass
Good and sophisticated glass, but not for suitable for a wife lacking in laboratory glass handling skills. Fragile, and the next one I get, I will wash my self... be forewarned, handle with care and it will server you long and well. As long as you can keep it out of the uninitiated reach.

Measure is spot on, tough glass like.
Not really sure if it’s solid glass. But it’s as hard as glass. It is spot on with measuring. Easy to pour out of. Nice

Perfect for making skin care.
This handled beaker makes for easier handling of my melted butters. So glad I found this.

Lasted longer than I expected. Good, but kinda thin...
and fragile. Did not last a year, but did not shatter. Something impacting the bottom created a small hole and leak. I torn whether or not to buy another because it works well steaming milk for cappucino.

I Plan to Buy More as Gifts
The addition of Cup measurements would have given this beaker 5 stars.I recently broke a different beaker I bought years ago as an experiment in its usefulness in the kitchen. Needless to say, I love it. Especially compared to the old standards. This is more comfortable to handle and significantly thicker than my old one at a full 1/8th inch. A pleasant surprise was the practicality of the handle. My old beaker had a thin glass rod bent at right angles to complete a rectangle once mounted. Not really evident in the description photos of this one is the fact that the (at least my) handle is approximately 5/8" wide with a flat interior, making it very easy to both balance and control from swinging. Also, aces to the designers of this spout! It hasn't dribbled down the front yet. Maybe I could make it, if I deliberately poured slowly enough to try. I'm just saying in 58 years of cooking with friends, family and for myself I've never encountered a Pyrex or Anchor Hocking measuring cup, no matter what size, that didn't dare you to try to pour cleanly. Now, we're talking beakers for kitchen use here. I have no experience about what criteria needs to be met for a laboratory. I'm adding this because of other comments suggesting it's not sturdy enough for professional use. That may be but I, for one, don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on a single kitchen tool. Go ahead, price some of the lab-grade beakers. Finally, why beakers in the kitchen? They are mainly for someone that makes heavy use of their microwave. For safety sake, they are NOT to go on a stove burner. Maybe, if you want to pony up hundreds of $$$, you could with one of those lab- grade ones, I don't know.Ever microwave something in a large bowl? You have to stop and stir a couple of times because the difference in heating the sides vs center. This is almost eliminated when heating in a tall, straight-sided cylinder. Also, it's nice to be able to see if the contents have started to boil sooner than anticipated. Now, if I can just keep this away from my stone floor!

I use it as a coffee cup
Many years ago, I received a coffee cup with lab markings at a tech show. I used it so much that the markings are no longer there. I loved the markings because it helped me regulate my coffee intake, and it was, after all, a pretty cool looking mug. I bought this and other than the spout, it is pretty much a duplicate. I use it to measure, but mostly I use it as a coffee cup. I love it no matter how I use it. Microwave safe, to pour boiling water into, all my uses, very versatile. And a good coffee cup.
