McDavid Thermal and Compression Therapy Short for Thigh, hamstrings, Glutes, and Groin Support and Weight Trimming

I am buying my second pair now so figured I should leave a review. I was surprised by how nice and thick these shorts were for $20. I am an aging athlete with the normal back/hip pain and these have been perfect. I wear these for grappling (bjj/judo) and lower body lifting and they do reduce my back and hip pain during and after the session and may reduce DOMS from the moderate compression (just my initial reaction). I hand wash and air dry 4+ times a week and they aren't showing any wear, though I've only had them a month.Fit is going to be highly personal, but I'm 6'2 with a 39" waist and the XL is a perfect, but very compressed, fit. Other reviewers have noted these have a roomy groin, and if you were so inclined you could conceivably wear these as an outer layer given the cut and thickness--they are certainly less revealing than vale tudo shorts or some spats, but you aren't fitting a cup under here. It's possible the blood flow restriction may be enough to reduce endurance depending on the fit and activity, though it is not enough to reduce squat reps for me.

Out of the box, these are wonderful. Probably 2mm thick. My hubby wears a large normal so I ordered a size up because of the thickness. Unfortunately, they do not stretch well and didn't fit properly. Sorry to send them back. If he would wear an XXL, I would reorder but that is like telling a woman she needs an XXL - we know that is not happening.

A short you can wear all day in comfort. Great for compression for just walking and normal daily routine. Need more compress if doing more strenuous activity!

Worked ok but I wanted to wear them for 4+ hours during a round of golf and that would have been way too long and not very comfortable for that length of time!

Love these. Help with muscle fatigue during and after a run or a hard workout.

To tight in the crouch dumped them

They are way to thick and they do not have a good material feeling on your skin.

Having had two hip replacements, these shorts offer awesome support, and help me maintain an active lifestyle.
