Hammer and Tongs - Rose Ring Gate Latch - W285mm - Black

Just what I wanted... heavy duty, quality door latch for Garden Gate, easy to fit and secure, looks good and will last a very long time. Cheap as well, compared to some cheap Chinese imports.

A wee bit expensive but worth the extra money as this is really heavy duty (blacksmith type) gate latch. Not the cheap alternatives you get in the DIY superstores. Only minor criticism was that there was too much powder coating in one of the handle openings which prevented the 8mm metal spindle from fitting. But it the spindle fitted after a couple of taps with a hammer.Don't know why it didn't come with a spindle which was strange. Assume it would make the latch appear even more expensive.In my opinion worth the extra money as it should last substantially longer than the cheaper alternatives.

on receipt of the original latch i found it to be damaged but on emailing the supplier i got an immediate response & replacement despatch immediately. the replacement is fab looks good & solid quality

No shaft poor quality like others say doesn’t last long falls apart

This latch is made is very sturdy, feels as though it’s been made by traditional blacksmith methods. The reason for my 2 star rating is that the supplier package, containing the latch, corner of the box was damaged. Upon fitting there was no square connecting bar! As it was a replacement for a broken one I filed the one I had and managed to re-use that component. Shame.No point in contacting the supplier, I suggest they check their quality control.

Square drive bar missing, connects both handles so gate can be opened from outside!Good job I had a second had one to use, otherwise useless.

Very pleased with this now but it came without screws !! But it's very sturdy and looked good on my gate handyman found it easy to fit after he found some screws to fit
