Just what I was looking for.
I didn’t like the wood grips on my Rock Island Government FS Model 1911 .45 so I ordered these grips. Shipping was fast, the grips are high quality and they look exactly like the grips from the US Military issue 1911s I carried as a Marine. The only adjustment I made was to use a fingernail file to very lightly file down the edge that fits up under the slide stop plunger on the left hand side grip. This was not a big deal because I expect that not every 1911 made nowadays is going to have the same fit. The finger nail file was perfect to take off just enough of the inside top edge to make it a perfect fit. I could have just forced it on and put the screws back in, but the threads on the grip screw bushing are easy to ruin if you do something stupid like that. I love the look and feel of the new grips. I guess I’m very “Trigger Happy” now.

Awesome classic GI grips
These grips are the real deal, an exact copy of the original Bake-Lite grips. I put them on my RIA G.I. model and they look like they were made for it. The checkering has good depth but is not so sharp that it hurts to shoot the weapon. Took me all of 30 seconds with the wife's nail file to remove a tiny bit of material from the left grip panel at the top where it meets the plunger tube, after that it was perfect. Expect to do the same to yours. This is the best value you can get for classic grips.

Genuine NATO style grips
Was looking for something matching 70s-80s US army grips, these are as far as I can tell up to spec. Left grip doesn't quite want to go on (as several have noted), before you try filing just get the upper screw hole on and give the bottom one a slap, it will pop right into place.

Hand fitting required!
These probably can't be beat for the price, but be prepared to do some hand fitting.I had to file away some relief around the slide-release plunger at the top of the left-side panel before it would fit. Took about 20 minutes of filing, sanding, and fiddling around. But they have the perfect "period correct" look on my plain GI Rock Island 1911. I understand that later-issue WW2 1911s had brown plastic grips just like this. Modern grips or overly ornate wooden grips look and feel out of character on this particular gun.The plastic is slightly soft and aggressively textured, so they work really well. And, come on, for the price, they simply can't be beat!

Fit like original grips
I wanted to replace the origial grips on my M1911A1 because the ones mine came with still had the arms room number painted on them. These grips fit just like the originals on my M1911A1. Look and feel like the originals too! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

Good basic 1911 grips
Bought these for a Springfield Mil Spec 1911 project. Good basic grips with no ambi groove cut in the right side panel, as it should be. Fits well.

Some Fitting Required.
I'm pretty happy with these grips on my Rock Island 1911A1 FS GI. However, the left grip panel had quite a bit of casting flash on the top near the safety cutout. Even after removing that flash, I still had to do quite a bit of filing before the grip would fit under the safety/slide lock detent housing and sit down on both the grip screw bushings. The right grip went on without issue. Just beware that you may be filing on a brand new grip.Otherwise, I'm happy with the feel and appearance of them. They definitely give the pistol a more authentic look.
