Easy to Assemble & Use
This product had a bunch of mixed reviews so I wasn’t so sure how it would turn out but ordered it anyways. It came in several pieces I had to put together but it was not hard and the pieces just snap together. The plastic is a little on the flimsy side but I do not think it will affect the way it works. My bucket was a little shorter than a normal 5 gallon so I only used one part of the ladder and had it going down to a concert block. I placed feed crumbles on block, going up the ladder, & onto the trap door. I ended up catching this mouse the second night it was out. I’m trying to catch a big rat so I released the mouse & reset up with the feed crumbles. I will updated my review if anything changes.

Total failure
Don't bother. Mice ate all of the food on the lid, and easily escaped from inside (not sure how). These things simply do not work unless they are filled with water and you drown the mice. They are quite the acrobat and can climb anything. Utterly useless.

do the job if setup is right
I have 3 pests hiding and causing damage in my kitchen every nights. This item caught all 4 mices in one single night. it was fun watching from my night vision camera how they stupidly find their way in after their sibling was already caugth.

you might need to do a little bit more work.
I recently discovered an opening into my basement from the side yard and notice huge rats going in and out of the basement. I ordered this one because it was the largest and when I got my first order, one of the clips came broken and as soon as I reported it, I got a new one in the mail within the same week , I just had to return the broken one within 30 days so the service was fast and great. I thought that this big bucket would hold the weight of the rats but some were way too big and would snap the ladder in half.( it came in two half pieces that clicks together) The pieces that get clipped in our barely big enough to stay on for the rats that we’re going into my basement. I will go check it every morning and find the little ladder split in half so I later than duck taped it and set the bucket at the corner of the basement so that the pressure goes against the wall instead of sliding flat which decreases the chances of the little steps from separated into the two pieces again. I did catch a few rats but mainly the smaller ones which were the size of my entire hand still. I noticed that putting the food in the opening was too easy so I put it way in the back so they get their whole body in but some were so big that I could see on my doggie cam that they would still have space to stay off the rotator lid and still get the treats. So I learned to put peanut butter inside the roof of the trap door cap because they wouldnt be able to snatch it and run. This would definitely work better with mice or small rats but the ones from outside are definitely bigger than kittens. It was easy to clean but terrible if you let it sit for too long so I cleaned it out everyday , even if I didn’t catch anything but holds in the smells. Hope this helps.

Trapped 6 mice on day one!
Caught 6 mice the first night. I have chickens and the mice are flourishing off my chicken feed. I smeared peanut butter on the lid and it worked like a charm! Now how to humanely get rid of the mice. The stairs snapped (broke) pretty easily during set up but it still works.Update: if have caught two more mice but the stairs have completely broke off, and a screw keeps coming out that’s the counter weight so the lid stays flipped up. The design is good but the quality isn’t the best. If I could do it over I would probably spend a little more to get a better quality product.

Arrived broke
Like others mine arrived broke the pins for the trap door we’re both broke off. They are way too brittle!! Fixed it with a pice of a metal rod and some plastic epoxy

Doesn’t work
Did not work: fit on the bucket. Trapping Lid swung down & open with any seed or bait to attract the chipmunks we were trying to catch. Flimsy plastic ladder to climb up toward the bait continued to break apart with the slightest touch.
