II cannot say enough about this rat trap. I am SO IMPRESSED. I truly hate mice and rats but living accross from a wooded area I'm affraid it's going to be a constant battle. The only thing I dislike even more are the old school wooden spring traps. I would like to shake the hand of the person who came up with this little goddess of a trap for rodents. You my friend are going down in history. It's super easy to set these traps. Before you set the trap, flip it upside down and unscrew the little loading cup. We used peanut butter with a peanut stuck in on top. You can use your hand to undo it and put it back in. There is no screwdriver or anything needed. It's just a little half turn. Then flip it back to the correct side and place it up against a wall where you know you have rodent traffic. (where you see droppings that look like chocolate sprinkles but ytou don't want to put this kind on your ice cream) Then you can use your hand or I like to use my foot to press the mechanism down. It's the big thing in the middle that looks like a piano peddle. It's spring loaded. So you might need to put a little umph into it to get it all the way down. That is why I use my foot. You will feel it lock in place. And your good. We started catching rats on the first night. I haven't even had to change the bait for two weeks and we catch something every night. I think it's something to do with the small tunnel that makes them very comfortable. The old wood traps it was kind of hit or miss depending on how well you set the trap. Sometimes they were able to gently lick all the bait off the trap without setting it off. But not these. These are almost self setting every time. You just have to press the peddle down and it catches at the right place. I check it every morning and when I see that the peddle is back up again I know to look for a black tail sticking out. Then I just put my disposable gloves on and have my partner in crime hold a plastic bag open then I position the trap so the tunnel is horizontal and I press down on the piano peddle and out falls mr rat into the bag. Dead and stiff as a rock. Tie the bag off and put it into the trash. We have it on our back patio and we put a little doggie gate around the area so in case our dogs detect it first they can't get to it. But That is just because my silly dogs think they are ratters. They LOVE catching rats. It's so disgusting to me. When I see them do it, I'm like ok but no kisses from you today. I don't want to be near your mouth after that. But the way the trap is designed I'm not sure they would even be able to get to the rat. Maybe if they grabbed the tail and pulled on it hard enough. But I kinda doubt it. I also don't think you would have to worry about your pet getting snapped by it. The tunnel is a brilliant design. I used to put the wood snap traps out by my shed in the back and occasionally some poor baby cardnal or something would get snapped in it and I would feel so bad about that and stop using them altogether. But with this tunnel design I don't think a bird would feel comfortable going inside a tunnel on the ground level like that. So problem solved. Anyway this is a great trap and I highly reccommend it for everyone who has a problem with rats and mice.

So my return took a shockingly good twist which i felt needed to be shared with consumers! We live nextdoor to an open field and choose to maintain multiple bird feeders out our window because our son provided that bird haven for the beauty of our viewing and. His love of wildlife. We have had mice issues which we use the bucket and flip top with good margins but i feel all of them return back after returned to wild. Inside the house i have resorted to simple snap traps and its going ok and on down trend. My biggest issues are the big old dirty scary rats we see on the middle of the night and hear in attic and in walls! My dogs go crazy and this Mama is even more freaked out. Tried All the products but i guess our Rats are smart enough to NOT be caught. The night we got this order, i immediately had issues as one was fine but other one wasn’t easy to set and maintain the lever to be set! I called customer service of company that sold them through Amazon. Support answered call despite it being a Fri night -And it was a good 30 minutes past their business hours and told them that i felt this was futile in this moment and needed help . I was mad that one trapped set fine but the other malfunctioned and was faulty He gave me several options for return/refund, sending a replacement out in next day or he said a lot about it work better if you hit them and kinda realign parts that shifted in transit - that often solves the issue. He said that it was my choice and he would support that choice or replacement or refund. What a difference afterwards - i could set rat trap with one hand!! We diligently set them out and weeks went by and nada, zilch, no bueno! Defeated - i choose to re-package them first thing in morning to return but woke up with 2 rats caught. Hooray! We have now killed over 25 to 35 Rats atleast. The ONLY thing i will share is our big ole nasty rats sometimes are too big to get all the way into tunnels to snap trap and those get caught and injured but get away. Not sure of what their survival chances out there but germs and diseases carried and their eating through satellite solar lights cords ablnd tv streaming for our DISH and solar lights as well - theyyyt have pissed Moi off!! Im amazed how good these work. Slow start but wowz - has more than picked up and impressive. So ty ty ty for this awesome invention and best of luck in your small business. Took 10 days, but it finally caught him. We live in a condo complex. Saw a rat early in the morning in my garage, next day saw him in the trees. Was hoping the cats would catch him, but bought this just in case. Found him dead today: didn't even hardly make it to the bait. Easy to release, easy bait. Build quality is great, sensitivity is perfect. I'd highly recommend this for the value. Hell, making it so you don't even need to touch the dead rat is value enough. Plus, it's reusable. I already prepped it for any more, because let's be honest: where there's 1 there's more.

I have had mixed success with these traps. Two traps are included, so I set one up next to a trash can that was getting frequent rat activity and another in my shed. Both traps are set up directly parallel against a wall. The trap by the trash can has been set off multiple time with nothing inside and no signs that whatever set it off was even injured. I have yet to actually catch anything in that one. The trap in the shed has caught 4 rats in the span of about a week. All clean catches with the rat squarely centered in the jaws. Not sure what is causing the disparity here. Both traps are set against walls, both using peanut butter as bait. I like the design of the traps. The tunnels on each end force a head on entry and pretty much guarantee a clean catch. The traps are fully plastic, so time in the heat and cold will likely break down the plastic faster than wood and metal traps. I still expect to get at least a couple years of use put of them. Emptying the trap is super easy and clean: just release the jaws (can be done one-handed), dump the contents and reset. I do wear plastic gloves just for sanitary reasons, but it is definitely better than dealing with the OG traps where you have to directly touch surfaces that have come in contact with the animal. The price is fair and unless you have very large critters, these traps should work fine.

These traps are super effective. Caught a huge rat the first night I set it out. Easy to bait and even easier to set. Just unscrew a cup from the bottom and fill with a thimble full of peanut butter. You pinch the trap mechanism from the outside. Easy visual indication of being set. The rodents then climb into a double sided tube and get quickly dispatched by the very powerful metal trap. Getting rid of the carcass is as simple as picking the trap up by the external spring mechanism, holding it over a trash bag, than resetting the mechanism to drop the rodent into the bag/trash. No touching. The openings are big enough for rodents bigger than the trap itself. The bait and trap teeth are all internal, no chance of a pet licking the trip mechanism. They are even rain protected. Hard to imagine a better product. One item of caution, ants empty the bait cups in under two days. Jiff sells tube of peanut butter that fit the inside of the cup perfectly. Keeping the the tube in a rodent free box in the shed keeps one from handling the human peanut butter and bloody rat traps at the same time

This is basically a "t-rex" style trap with tunnels on either side. "T-rex" referring to the shape of the jaws, with exactly the same trigger mechanism and bait cup. They're loads better than the old snap traps. So it works--when it can attract a mouse. But there's the problem -- mice aren't attracted. I purchased these, along with some "regular" open "t-rex" style traps. I expected the tunnel design would both protect the bait better during wind/rain, and be attractive to mice when it's cold/rainy outside ("food? in a cave? where I don't have to get wet? count me in!" I imagined the mice saying to themselves). Unfortunately, these just don't attract mice when outdoors. I'm sure they're fine if you place the tunnel opening in front of a known mouse entry/exit hole where they have no choice but to pass through, but not otherwise. I've had four of these baited for almost 2 weeks now (re-baiting regularly). On the first night, I caught 1 mouse. I thought my investment was paying off. But none since. Meanwhile, I've also had 3 of the standard "t-rex" open traps baited. I've caught 10 mice with those in the same period. I even tried swapping the position of the TRATPER tunnel trap with one of the open traps that had been catching the majority of the mice. The result? The mice went to where the tunnel USED TO BE, and were caught by the open trap. The tunnel trap just sat there undisturbed - - again, it was in the same location that had been catching the most mice with the open trap. I don't have enough cameras to say definitively that mice aren't attracted, but I did video one night where a mouse went right past the tunnel, and found one of the standard traps (and was caught by it). All-in-all, very disappointed in the ability to attract and catch mice outdoors. If that's your situation, I'd stay away. If that's not your situation, they might work a lot better -- because this kind of trigger mechanism DOES work, and the bait cup both makes it easier to bait/rebait, and makes it harder for mice/rats to steal the bait without triggering the mechanism. The tunnel might even work better in some circumstances. No issues with the quality of these that I can see (vs the standard "t-rex" style, which are awesome), and they seem like they'd hold up well over repeat uses for a prolonged time. Just the tunnels seem to make them invisible to most mice.

This was my 3rd order of these traps over the last few years. They have been effective in our barn and around our property. With farm animals and living in a rural area Rats are an issue. I usually have 4 traps set in my barn and usually always have a few caught everytime I check. I will also give a shout out to customer service. I know over time these start to have issues. The traps wears out over time. I messaged them on a few traps that after less than a year would not set. Even thought the warranty was over they sent me a few out of consideration. That told me they stand behind the product. I will continue buying these over time as others wear out.

There has been a pretty bad rat infestation in my yard and within the neighboring yards for the past few years. I've done all that I could to keep them away including setting up barriers with hardware cloth to keep them out of my yard. As of late, they've been determined to get into my property and started digging at the fence line under the cloth to get in my side resulting in holes big enough to put a beer can into. After all the work I put in to keep them that resulted in receiving a herniated disc, I was entirely ticked off, so I decided to try these out. Caught 5 rats over the span of 7 nights including 2 in one night. They've avoided every bait box and any other trap that I've put down except for this one. My only issue with this one is that two out of the three didn't result in immediate deaths. They suffered for quite some time before eventually passing, so I had to hear the cries and squeals until they perished. Also, if you're hoping to release them by unlocking the trap with your foot-- it's not happening. As long as their body is wedged on the spring, the release button will not stay open, so you pretty much have to pick up the trap and hold the release button with your hand and shake them out of there. Neither of the two are deal breakers for me since they're so effective, but I know some might have an issue with this. If I stumbled upon these when the population began to explode, I may have gotten ahead of the problem. I may spin back for a couple more since I noticed about 3-4 others running past one of the ones that were caught in the trap. Once my back heals, I plan to patch the hole they created and will keep some traps against the fence line to keep them from trying to dig it up again.

En efectividad 100%, el roedor cayo a la primera. Solo dos puntos: 1) Es muy ligera, en mi caso, coloque la trampa en una barda (ruta habitual del roedor) y, al activarse, se cayo (aprox. 1 m). Resistio el golpe, pero no se si pueda romperse o se abra la trampa, dando oportunidad de escape al roedor. 2) La primera impresion es que es pequeña. El roedor atrapado era de unos 20 cm (sin la cola), no se si funcione para animales mas grandes.
