The best long distance hiking boots on the market.
My second pair of these boots, and my 6th pair of XPETI boots overall, i do a lot of hiking and trail walking, the end of last year Sep/Oct/November i hiked the Fife pilgrims way, the Cateran trail, the Rod Roy way, and the West Highland way, with detours nearly 600km these boots were superb on hard parked trails, on tarmac, and especially on wet muddy climbs, the grip is second to none for climbing muddy banks, countless times i was walking in long wet grass and deep mud, not once did they leak, these are easily the best value for money boots iv'e ever owned, they perform to the same level as boots three times the cost, and most importantly they are superbly comfortable, i was walking over 35 km some days with no blisters, i'd 100% recommend these boots for anyone doing long distance hikes.

Great value for the price and comfortable.
In recent years I've bought walking boots that were on the cheaper end of the market, form over function designs that looked good but didn't do what I needed. Most of my choices have been driven by my finances and as a result, I've not always ended up with a good choice, one of them was downright dangerous having little or no grip on the heel, leading me to fall over more than once, which at my advancing years is not good. I was looking for a better boot, I needed a better grip and ankle support. I was looking at the new Moab boots but at £180ish, could I justify the cost? So instead I decided to lower my spending limit and came across these boots by XPETI. In my distant past, I used to own an all-leather Berghaus pair of boots with Yeti gaiters, so I was attracted to these Highland boots because of the all-leather design and the fact that they are waterproof. When I first tried them on I found that they were very comfortable but the top of the boot rubbed a bit on my ankle. Now that they are broken in is no longer an issue. The heel grip is amazing and I feel more confident walking on rough terrain. I took the added precaution of giving them a good layer of boot wax, working it into the seams. I love these boots and now that Autumn is fast approaching will get to test them properly. I would recommend them and will buy them again. There is a slight defect on the toe box where the rubber meets the leather, it's a slightly different shape on both boots and my OCD hates it but it doesn't seem to detract from the performance.

Really Comfortable
I love Xpeti boots and wear very little else these days. I have several pairs and have had many different styles. All have been very comfortable and fantastic value for money. These leather boot are probably the most comfortable so far. Only lost a star due to minor cracking of the leather in the creases on the inside of both boots. These appeared after about the third time out, but do not seem to have got any worse and the boots are still waterproof.

Not really fit for purpose
These boots look smart and are very comfortable. However, the manufacturing quality doesn't hold up. I only wore these for a month or so towards the end of 2023 as the weather was very poor and found the boots started to leaked very badly. I had cleaned and treated them with Nikwax two or three times to keep them in good condition. I didn't chance wearing them over our very inclement winter as the farmland over which I walk was saturated. When I inspected them to see if they were fit to use I found that the rubber surrounding the for area was separating from the rest of the boot causing them to leak even in damp conditions. I've contacted Xpeti and their warranty is only 6 months and the only thing they offered was a discount, presumably off another pair of their boots. I don't think so!!!!

Sturdy piece of kit
Bought these 11 months ago for a sponsored walk. And I must say they were brilliant. Light, sturdy, a good fit and really comfortable. I continued to use for work and as I commute on a motorbike I wear them on my bike too been in many a storm and my feet were always dry, nothing gets in. And then they do 10 hours in my work and I'm on my feet all day. They are still in good working order with no wear or splits and a so comfortable. These boots are well worth the price. Quality pair of footwear. You can't go wrong with these bad boys. Update may 2023 had these 18 months now. Still they continue to keep going strong. Awesome.

Fabulous
First try of this brand, I spend a lot of time out working with survival trainers and have tried other boots and footwear, after a couple of hours my feet are normally sore, tired and worse wet, so I thought I would give these a try, they do not disappoint, very comfortable, warm and keep my feet dry, I have also found that most boots dont support my feet position and always feel like they are angled towards my inside, however I have found these boots keep my feet flat and hold them firm in position, this has most certainly improved my walking and standing for long periods of time, I'm definitely a fan and will be buying more of their other types of boots for winter use.

A very comfortable shoe and waterproof so far
Time will tell with walking boots but so far these are working very well for the price. They've been taken through long grass on long walks which is always a good test of waterproofing - no problem. Very comfortable fit and I've got reasonably wide feet. Grip is good too. I've recently had problems with expensive canvas boots with the fabric ripping when your foot flexes at the front - the design of these looks like this will be less of a problem. Shame they aren't self-cleaning! Difficult not to recommend after two weeks.UPDATE: it has been incredibly wet in UK recently and I've used these boots in some horrendous weather. Waterproofing really is excellent. Dry feet... Shame they can't clean themselves.FURTHER UPDATE: So impressed, I've bought a second pair. The first pair have done a lot of distance (1,000km) miles and are starting to show signs of wear on the tread but they are still pretty waterproof.
