Holds a lot of line, may need backing to lesson the cost of braid.
I use this for flathead catfish in a fast moving river, works great for pulling big fish up a fast current.

Shipping report
31Aug2024. received unbroken even though shipped with no container. No manual, no certificate of warranty. surprised it got to Alaska in one piece. reel was loose on rod, almost off. DISSSATISFIED Dean

Nice combo
The combo is nice, however it arrived missing clamp bolts, bent rod eyelet, horrible packaging. Only a piece of crumpled up plastic to cover the rod. Penn is a quality product but seller is not. I would not buy from them again.

Great Combo Horrible packaging.
The rod and reel combo was delivered today. It was only packaged in a thin piece of plastic with bubble wrap around the reel. On the rubber/foam handle they had placed all the shipping labels so I had to take the labels off and use goo b gone to remove the adhesive and remaining label. As far as the combo, there actually was no damage and in working order. If it was not for the packaging I would have given this five stars.

Great combo
I went fishing for rock fist at 600 feet depth. The reel and rod were wonderful. The reel made retrieval easy. The rod was sturdy. It was a god day for catching rock fish.
