Venstar ACC-VWF1 Wi-Fi Module for Voyager Thermostats

I had a Venstar T3700 thermostat but wanted to add WIFI to it so purchased the WIFI module (which is very inexpensive) got it in 2 days and the instillation was a breeze. Had it plugged in and working in less than 5 minutes. The combination of the T3700 and the WIFI module work great. I have complete access to the thermostat and all its functions including programing, it also has over 12 alerts E-Mailed to you that will tell you how your air-condition equipment is working and how efficient you are operating the equipment. Alerts can be turned on or off according to how much information you want to receive. I can now send messages to the thermostat from my smart phone such as "get off the phone so I can call you" But the best think is I can now give my thermostat verbal instructions using Alexis.

albeit an expensive addition, the wifi module works really well. it is really nice to see more information on the thermostat (like outdoor temp), even when we don't have an outdoor probe, because it pulls weather data from around our location, which is set in the Venstar online console.

Using with the Venstar T3800. The WIFI module works great. I have complete access to the thermostat from iPhone.I LOVE the red/green LED indicator on Venstar, it is a unique feature that I simply cannot live without.This allows the thermostat to connect to your Wi-Fi. I recommend this option very much. This allows you to more easily program the thermostat using a desktop computer. Using my Mac and running Firefox I can set up any schedule on a day by day basis. You can do very simple programming, complex programming, or no programming at all.The Wi-Fi Module also allows me to monitor and control my thermostat from anywhere in the world using my iPhone. You have to install two apps on your iPhone to do this (both are free). The first app is called "Configurator" you only use this app once, this gets the thermostat talking to your Wi-Fi. Once this is accomplished you'll not need it again. This process took me about 2 minutes.The iPhone thermostat app is “Venstar Skyport”. This is an excellent iPhone app it will let you do most everything you would want to do with the thermostat. The Venstar app is simple to use without a lot of unnecessary fluff. With the iPhone app, (or a desktop computer) you can raise or lower the temperature, change the thermostat from Heating, Cooling or Auto, and control the fan (aka blower) independently if you wish. The iPhone app will also let you observe the running time of your equipment. The Venstar Skyport iPhone app allows you to have up to 10 different properties, with up to 10 thermostats at each property.I had occasion to send their technical support a question. I received a courteous and useful answer (in perfect English), about 12 hours later.

There is no customer technical support neither by phone nor by email. They right that you can by Z wave module but you cannot find it.

First one lasted not even a year. First the unit lost its settings. A week later, after I had reprogrammed it, my thermostat was blank! I thought I had bigger issues but once I removed the wireless module the thermostat was operating normally.I ordered a replacement but only because decent thermostats are so expensive. I hope the replacement lasts but who knows?Set up was fairly easy.

I got a new air conditioner and furnace installed and originally didn’t think Wi-Fi was necessary. I never use my heater but there were a few very cold days, and it made it hard to get out of bed due tor he door because I never leave the heat on at night. After about a month, i decided to get the wireless so i could turn it on upstairs. It I’m pretty good with tech stuff but programming the thermostat wasn’t easy, and my arm would get tired from being raised that long and if you miss a setting or do it wrong you have to start over and scroll through the entire process! The Wi-Fi module and app made it much simpler! It has shut off once and had to be reconnected which took some guesswork but overall I’d recommend this, it makes programming the thermostat simple. And I can operate it remotely now
