Worked well for Cutting Roots
Worked great for removing roots in the ground. Leveled a small garden where a 20' tree had been cut down. The stump had already been removed but the roots remained. I used these blades with a reciprocating saw to remove roots near the surface. Largest I cut was about 3".

Lasted Longer than Standard Bi-metal Blades
I recently purchased carbide pruning saw blades for root pruning at the base of three trees while edging prior to mulching. Initially, I tried standard bi-metal pruning blades, but they dulled after just one cut through buried roots. In comparison, these carbide blades lasted significantly longer-about three to five times as long as the bi-metal blades-making the job much more efficient and less frustrating. I was hoping the blades would last longer, however, when cutting roots the blades have to deal with rocks and pebbles in the soil.My first purchase was the 6 TPI (teeth per inch) version. These blades cut well and maintained their edge through several roots, but I found the cutting speed slower than I expected, especially when dealing with dense or thicker roots. After some research, I realized that a lower TPI blade would likely provide a faster, more aggressive cut for this type of work.I then ordered the 3 TPI carbide pruning blades, and the difference was immediately noticeable. The 3 TPI blades cut through roots much faster and with less effort, thanks to their more aggressive tooth pattern and larger gullets that help clear debris. In general, these carbide teeth held up relatively well against soil, rocks, and sand, which are common obstacles when cutting roots below ground.Overall, I found these carbide pruning blades to be a great value for anyone needing to cut tree roots in soil. If you’re tackling root pruning or similar jobs, I highly recommend going with the 3 TPI version for the fastest and most efficient results.

Works well in my handsaw
I have a very nice Lenox folding handsaw that I have used to cut holes in drywall and plaster. I bought these blades when the blade that came with my saw finally wore out. These fit perfectly and work well. It is too early to tell if they will last longer than my original blade, but so far I am pleased with them. They are quite rigid which makes them easy to use.

Cutting Roots out of Single Track !
These are GREAT in a battery powered sawzall for cutting out huge roots from dirt bike / mountain bike single track. I've used these for hundreds of roots and limbs, straight in the dirt, around rocks, over 6" roots are nothing for these. The paint is gone but the carbide teeth are still sharp and servicable. Save your chainsaw, use these blades instead and you don't have to worry about hitting rocks or dirt. You can SCULPT the roots , cut out stumps, limbs, VINES, everything that is annoying and in the way. Thanks Bailey !
