Q: Is this the same burr assembly as the bcg820bssxl?

I don't know what a bcg820bssxl is; however, this is an after market burr. Breville no longer provides parts for the grinder....I'm sure they want you to purchase the current model. I purchased two burrs as I wasn't sure if I'd ever find it again......I'm still using the first of two.

Q: Does this fix a problem with over extraction? Cant determine if grind is too Coarse or too fine.

No, Over extraction Is caused by too fine grind, and when the upper burr lost its sharpness, cause under-extraction. Si if you are over-extracting, use less coffee, or set your grinder coarser.

Q: Will this one works with barista touch?

No, this burr part is not compatible with the Breville® BES880 Barista Touch™.

Q: is it is compatible with breville bes980 (oracle)?

No, the upper burr assembly for the Breville® BES870 Barista Express™ is not compatible with the BES980 Oracle®.
