The Pwr+ AC adapter behaves very well in conjunction with my Seagate Stca2000100 desktop hard drive. While I haven't bench-tested the actual power output, I have observed no anomalies with the AC adapter: the hard disk powers up as reliably as it did with the original adapter (before, alas, it was lost). The 6ft cable is especially nice to have and the power jack fits snugly in the hard drive's power socket. Although the adapter is a little on the pricey side at $15, I would buy it again.

I am so glad they make spare parts for things. One of my rabbits chewed through the power supply cord to my Seagate Backup hard drive. I keep all my iTunes music on this as to not take up space on my computer's hard drive. Anyway, now I am stuck with a hard drive and no way to use it since I have no power supply. Searching Amazon, I found Power+ and they had this power supply available. Works like a dream, and I can play all my music once again. A great company for all your power supply needs!

This is just what I needed to get my old 500 gb Seagate hard drive working. My original power cord needed replacing. This was a smart choice. After several months this cord is still working as intented.

This works as good as the factory stock adapter that you get with your hard drive. This one is actually made a little better.

After about a couple of years of owning my 6TB Seagate Backup Plus Desktop Drive (SRD0SD0), I realized the original adapter (WA-118Q12FU) that has a very thin cable finally started to fail and get disconnected randomly especially when the cable would move a bit. So after looking at online for a replacement I realized a lot of the adapters either look low quality or some like this one would come with a 2A current. The original adapter input is 100-240v ~ 50-60 Hz .5A max with output of 12V @ 1.5A. So I called Seagate and inquired whether they recommended any replacement (as they don't sell accessories directly) otherwise, wheater 2A adapter would be fine with the external drive. Surprisingly I was informed that 1.5A is meant as a minimum current and that for the replacement they recommended 2A. Not sure why the original one was not 2A. I even asked if the anything over 2A current (e.g. 3A) is fine and I was informed that it was not. So for those in my situation who need a replacement you can get a 2A adapter for this drive. Now as for this specific PWR+ adapter I have to say I am very pleased with the quality and I like the fact that it has the LED indicator. Its cable is way thicker a bit less flexible than the original adapter and feels like much better quality. The size of the adapter can be a bit misleading from the listing picture as it can be seen as a small, slim adapter, but it's pretty big and requires a bit more space if you are connecting it to a jammed packed socket without much space between its multiple plugs.

I lost my power adapter for my 5tb seagate. Found they don't ship a replacement. Searched and found the PWR+ product and snapped it up. it's now attached to my synology as a back up drive so it's powered 24/7. Plugged the item in out of the box to my Seagate HDD. i smelled burning immediately and smoke started coming from the HDD. Pardon no pictures, I was busy running the device outside. This cord is junk!
