"This 2015 Brunello di Montalcino by Tenuta CastelGiocondo is an excellent way to experience the complex palate of the Tuscan wine region. Built on more than 6 centuries of Tuscan wine growing expertise, this fine Italian red wine boasts a memorable medley of fruity and floral notes in its scent, and a dense tannic texture in the mouth. In true Tuscan tradition, this distinctive red is made with Sangiovese grapes hand-harvested and subjected to rigorous selection standards. Sangiovese is widely regarded as the pride of the region's winemaking, and known for its challenging growing process, earthy notes, and slow ripening. Tuscany's rich diversity of microclimates, ranging from temperate coastal sands to large marl and clay deposits, gives its grapes a fantastic balance of sugars, acidity and aromatics. The complex palate of this wine pairs wonderfully with Chianina rib steak, mature Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, or tarts and pastries with rich, fruity fillings.
