Cosco Outdoor Living 180 Gallon Patio Storage Box, Extra Large, Lockable Lid, Weather-Resistant, Tan/Brown

I am completely happy with this patio box although the item description is incorrect. The material described in the item listing is "alloy steel". The only metal in this box is the hasp, lid hinges, lid supports and screws. The rest is either resin or plastic, WHICH IS PERFECTLY OK. I purchased this box based on it's low price vs it's large size and had some concern with the durability of it's "steel" construction and was pleased that it wasn't. I gave five stars because this suited my needs to a "T". It was simple to assemble, more or less "snapping" together, with just a few screws for the hasp and lid supports. I wouldn't trust the hasp to keep thieves out as a good yank would defeat the screws.

I bought two of these. The first one came and was super easy to put together, I did it myself. It seemed pretty tight but I went ahead and caulked around all the seams to help keep water out. And I ordered another one.This one was more difficult to put together but I got it.About a week or so into it, the lids on both started to warp and lift off the frame. I tried using gorilla glue for plastic but it was warped so much that it wouldn’t hold.The second by now is not only warped, but within about 2 months it literally started coming apart at all of the seams. I glued, caulked, and wrapped in bungee cords to try to keep it together.It just keeps getting worse and worse.Today I opened it to get someone and the entire lid fell off the frame and the front panel came completely off.It’s been three months and this one is completely useless.

Have several COSCO product: steps, trolleys... All well designed and engineered. The Storage Box is no exception and is superior to other such items I have from two of the well known vendors.By far the easiest to assemble of any of my other boxes. The lid, with stays at both ends, opens fully (90 degrees) and is sturdy.Irritation: sides have unnecessarily large stickers on the inside for Left and Right that are of a flimsy plastic that WILL NOT peel off but tears into pieces. Should have left them as once started scraping, bending over the sides, the appearance is that of a "dogs' breakfast" and has to be finished. More time than required to assemble, and considerably more uncomfortable. COSCO is not, of course, a 'Trail Blazer' in the use of such labels but why is it a follower in demonstrating contempt for the consumer?Do hope COSCO will broaden its offering to include a front door unit as there are instances - emergency generators - where such access is obligatory.

It is large but will only hold a little over 100 lbs. Seems a little flimsy. Top is secure, and it looks nice. It was easy to put together and has a decent latch. I think it will be waterproof.

This is a good size box but the bottom is just cheap plastic. Unless you cut wood or something sturdy to put at the bottom, I wouldn't recommend using it for anything heavy. It is great for light stuff like furniture cushions.

This is a great deck box, and it appears waterproof. We assembled it in about 20 mins and immediately put outdoor cushions in it. It actually rained that evening and everything stayed dry. Excited to see how well this holds up. Everything feels a little flimsy, but for the price that is ok.

When we opened the package, none of the items were marked, so it took us a long time to put together. You need two people to get it together. For the price, I should have spent a little more and bought something already assembled. Very frustrating and not worth it!!
