Excellent book, inspiring, nice bloke!
Read this book in one sitting. Along with the Kavadlos, he (in my opinion) is the the foremost expert on bodyweight training; all be it from slightly different angles. This guy for strength and hypertrophy, the Kavadlos for strength and skill. Nice bloke, too. I emailed him for an excel copy of the routine outlined in the book, and he sent it straight over. Will definitely be getting the rest of his stuff. Couldn’t recommend more.

The only book on Bodyweight training you will ever need.
I have read many books on Bodyweight training and can say without doubt that Anthony's books on the subject are by far the most motivating and informative that I have found. It is clear that Anthony has a passion for his subject which clearly comes across as you turn the pages. The book clearly explains the science behind Bodyweight training and shows you what you need to do in order to achieve your goals. I am now well into my 1st month of following Anthony's training programme and already can see and feel the benefits. My only regret is that I did not discover Anthony's superb books earlier. Many thanks and continue the good work. Steve, UK

Yet another outstanding book from Anthony
I first found Anthony on YouTube back in 2013 when I was just starting to take my health and fitness seriously... His approach to home workouts really resonated with me because I was very limited to time I had to work out because of my busy schedule and Lifestyle. I have brought all of his books to date and I must say this is probably his best yet.. he has come a long way and gained a lot of experience and knowledge, I feel like he has put everything into this book and I highly recommend it to anyone at any fitness level.I just want to add that Anthony is very responsive to any questions I have had, he has answered countless emails to me in the past and I appreciate it very much.. all round great guy.Josh.

Another great book from this author that makes a good companion ...
Another great book from this author that makes a good companion to his other publishings. It's refreshing to find science based information on calisthenics that focuses on the form and technique of the basics rather than the usual advice of either using high volume training or striving to perform unnecessarily advanced gymnastic moves. When you consider you can probably buy all the books plus a pull up bar and a set of gymnastics rings for less than a month's membership to a high end gym, it's great value to work out this way.

Good information
I really enjoyed this book. Simple and straight to the point. Eliminating a lot of the fluff and focusing on the basics. The only thing I am not a fan of are Burpees. I just believe the put a lot of unnecessary stress in the body. Apart from that it's a fantastic book in my opinion. Give it a read.

All you need!
This is a fantastic book! The workouts are clear and simple to follow and achievable for people from all levels of training which is rare. It's packed full of useful advice like the part on nutrition for example as it opens the door for me to be more creative rather than just stick to a rigid dull menu. This book is all you need to look good and be healthy and who doesn't want that?!Peter

Best investment you'll make!
This is well worth a read even if you've read Anthony's other books. Anthony builds on and refines the lessons he's shared before. These books are available for the price of one visit to many gyms and if you follow the advice inside you may never want to visit a gym again.Anthony seems to genuinely want to help people reach their potential. He provides everything except the willpower - and does his best to help there too!

A simple but effective bodyweight training book for muscle building and fitness
First, let me preface my review by saying I've read multiple books and watched countless YouTube videos on bodyweight training. I recently completed my 3rd month of a high-volume program from a very well-known bodyweight trainer on YouTube and made good progression on that program. That program; however, was progressing into more gymnastic type movements and I was not interested in doing any gymnastic or urban calisthenic type workouts, especially since I'm prone to injuries. I wanted a simple and safe, yet effective bodyweight training routine that focused solely on muscle building, health and fitness. With this in mind, this is by far one of the best books on bodyweight training I've had the pleasure of reading. The book focuses solely on what works best for building muscle and fitness using bodyweight training with an emphasis on health, well being and injury prevention. Anthony explains why he chose specific exercises and why he has designed the programming the way he has, all with the goal of providing the simplest and most results-based bodyweight workout you can do. He lays it all out. The why, the how and the where. Theoretical and applied are both covered. The programs also incorporate deload weeks and he explains when it's appropriate to take breaks. In fact, he goes into details such as what to do on vacations, over Christmas, etc. He gives sound advice on when to modify your training to adapt to life’s up and downs, stressors and demands - all which can impact gains and training. If you follow his programs through all phases you're looking at about 7 months worth of programming that includes the use of supersets, circuits and other advanced training principles.Anthony also explains what to do after you've completed all phases, so you're not left wondering "what now" and three options are provided: continue to build muscle with direction on how to do so with the programming provided, move into maintenance mode where he provides two additional programs - a 3-day or 4-day program, or design your own program based on the principles discussed. The book does not discuss exercise progressions in depth, but this small limitation is more one of convenience as it's easily solved by searching Google or YouTube, so this should be no biggie to any readers who are novices or have limitations e.g. lack strength, too heavy.Excellent book. Well laid out and great value for the money. I highly recommend for the reasons discussed.

Very good book on bodyweight training
I have the Kindle version of "How to Build Strong & Lean Bodyweight Muscle: A Science-based Approach to Gaining Mass without Lifting Weights". It is a very good book on Calisthenics. It seems to be very honest, it is useful and well written. This book is a practical case of the Aesop's Fable "Hic Rhodus, hic salta" written 2600 years ago. In that fable, "there was a man who had been away on a journey and had then come back home. He strutted about town, talking loudly and at great length about the brave deeds he had accomplished in the various lands he had visited. In Rhodes, the man said, he had jumped such a long jump that no man alive could equal it, and he claimed that there were witnesses who could back up his story. A bystander then remarked, "Alright! If you're telling the truth: Here is Rhodes, jump here! ("Hic Rhodus, hic salta”). The fable shows that talking is a waste of time when you can simply provide a demonstration".Anthony Arvanitakis, the author, has done this type of demonstration. With his personal example and his struggle in life he shows us what can be achieved with his bodyweight training method which he has summarised in this book. He is an awesome person and if you read his books or watch at his YouTube channel you will understand why.I would also suggest you to read "How to Never Skip your Workout Again" by the same author.Warning about the English language of this comment: English is not my mother tongue.
