Great replacement server
The item arrived earlier than expected. It was packaged well and arrived in excellent condition. It's been three weeks since I received it. So far, I'm happy with the performance and its expandability. I used this to replace an old server. I replaced the GPU, used my own, got a couple of riser cables, and filled all the available PCIE slots. I could use the two internet ports as aggregated links (LAG). It has enough processing to simultaneously transcode video and still be a responsive file server. It does consume a bit more power, but it's worth the tradeoffs.

Great refurbished machine for the cost
For my needs these machines are great. Have a z640 and decided to get another and upgrade to a z840.I have VMs to do both windows and linux development.Having plenty of RAM and two physical processors makes it very convenient for my setup.If having multiple processors is more important than the latest and greatest hardware and speed, these machines are great. The HP z840s are solid and are great workhorse machines.
