Wizkids will send you replacement parts
To anyone wondering about the questionable quality of the components in this expansion, this review is for you:It's true, the components as delivered in the original print are misshapen, inconsistently colored, and of overall low quality, especially when compared to rest of the Mage Knight components. However, if you go to Wizkids' website, you can request replacement components for games that they make. Search for Shades of Tezla, and show your proof of purchase via receipt. Next, you will be presented with a giant checklist of components from the game - one checkbox for every component. There is no need to check dozens and dozens of pieces. Simply check the box for the Instruction Manual. That's it. Then send in your request.Approximately 3-4 weeks later, Wizkids will send you a nice package of replacment parts. Included in the package are all new tokens, all new cards, and a new instruction book. The rest of the components that came in the original print run are of satisfactory quality and do not need to be replaced. After doing this, which is admittedly a somewhat annoying process, I am happy with the expansion, and feel comfortable rating it at 5 stars. Wizkids has done all they can to make this a painless procedure for the customer, and for that, I thank them.Mage Knight is an incredible board game, and I now have all expansions as well as Krang (the additional add-on character). Heck, I even have the Broken Token organizer, which I highly encourage as well.

Great expansion -- Wizkids will replace bad components
Can confirm that the printing issues with cards/tokens still exists, so it's kind of a dice roll as to which version you'll get. That said, WizKids has created a "replacement package" option on their support site -- if you purchase this and your components have the issues from the first edition, you can submit your receipt and select that option and they'll send you a full replacement. Pretty great. As for the content itself, it's more Mage Knight. The new hero is interesting but not groundbreaking, but the new enemies really ratchet up the fear of "what's under here" when you explore tiles. You probably don't NEED this expansion if you don't play Mage Knight a lot (Lost Legion is the must-have expansion), but it's a nice add-on for the hardcore player who spends a lot of time with the game. And man, that customer service. Perfect.

Happy I get to add more to my Mage Knight ...
Got the new one with less production issues. The packaging from Wizkids results in one card getting bent by the tray inside. Not badly, but that's why the 4 stars. Happy I get to add more to my Mage Knight set!

Great expansion - no problems experienced that this expansion was know for.
My copy fortunately did not have mis-cut/poorly sized tiles or miscolored card backs that would clash with the base game. Great addition to an amazing game!

Great content, questionable quality
The new character and scenarios are a great addition to an amazing game, but the cards are very different color from the base game so they are not compatible unless you cover up the art with solid color sleeves.

This is more great content for a great game
This is more great content for a great game. The first print run in 2015 was riddled with production issues, but all of the issues have since been fixed. The contents here merge beautifully with the base game content and Lost Legion.

the LL expansion was fantastic and added a ton to the game
Big Mage Knight fan. Played dozens of games of the original, Lost Legion, and the Krang expansion. Besides different shades of crystals, the LL expansion was fantastic and added a ton to the game.Unfortunately, the Shades of Tezla had some serious production issues. The enemy tokens don't match in size with the base and LL expansion, so you can tell by look and feel whether it's a Shades monster or another. In some scenarios that doesn't matter as you separate out the Shades ones anyway, but you can play with them all intermixed, and stacking them together makes the difference obvious. The new scenarios are a breath of fresh air, though, and I'm excited to play them.
