Looks like it’s working :/
Kind of hard to tell if these are doing their job unless you break one in half and take a close look at how the bacteria is building up in the middle of the media, I’ve had these for a few months now in my filter and it seems to be working quite well, I could see an improvement in the water quality and the health of my fish, I am sure it is a combination of the filter and the pads that I use as well but I have no doubt there are beneficial pluses to this bacteria media.I use these through the recommendations from the pond guy on YouTube, I think it’s always a good idea to seek out professional advice and instructions.I have a exterior filtration system, the name I cannot tell right off this second, the very bottom are use large golf ball sized media to stir up the muck, then a tray of three different filters, course, medium and fine and then the top three trays has this media in it As recommended by the pond guy.I am very happy with how it’s coming along and would recommend this to anybody.

Kind of works but still good.
I’ve used BioHome in most of my filters. Although I have never gotten 0 nitrates from the media even though I had enough for the stock I had and didn’t use ammonia binding dechlorinators like prime (I use API stress guard). I had it in for way longer than 6 months, most tanks over a year and at best I just get long periods where I don’t have to change water. So I can say it can lower nitrates for me, it doesn’t lower them to where I don’t have to water change at all except to replace minerals in the water like I wanted it to. It’s still a good media, pricey, but with good mechanical filtration before it, it will work but I’d advise anyone who wants to try this to get way more than the recommended amount for a full cycle. (Triple the amount to be sure in my opinion)

The best !!!
The very best !!!! I wish I hadn’t hesitated so long just because of the price. in the long run, like an idiot I ended up spending triple or quadruple on the other garbage everyone else sells at pet stores. Do it right the first time !!!!

Expensive, but good
I honestly expected to receive more for the money. Though it seems to have high porosity. I will eventually buy more to fully replace the rest of my ceramic rings. Did not change the color of my water as some stated.
