perfect!
perfect? what? this tool is right on that price point between reasonably decent quality and cheap junk...how can it be perfect???well...multitools, you carry them around. you use them a lot. and you almost never use the screwdriver as a screwdriver, yeah? it's always a pry bar or a chisel or a skeleton key for an old door...and eventually you'll bend, break, chip or otherwise ruin it. so why spend $100+ on a super-nice multitool and bend the driver the first time you use it (yep...i've done that!) get a cheap but quality tool that you can REPLACE when you inevitably break it!that said, my last gerber lasted about 4 years (before i lost it) as opposed to my $100 leatherman, which i broke a tool on immediately (not a commentary on their relative quality, which i'm not qualified to judge, just to say this kind of $*** happens with multitools)and, it comes with a SHEATH! a bargain at $40~

Good balance between weight and utility
First, this is a useful functioning tool. The screwdrivers have crisp edges compared. The really cheap multi-tools for $10 are just junk...pieces of metal. This Gerber model has nice tools. The pliers is good and is particularly useful when I'm fishing and I can get the pliers out with one hand. This tool is comparable to my Leatherman Wingman in terms of weight and usefulness. I find the Wingman to be a bit too polished and just a bit small. This Gerber has more to hold onto. The Gerber is not near as strong and durable as my Leatherman Wave. However, the Gerber costs and weighs about 30% less. It is only a couple ounces lighter, but for me I sometimes forget the Gerber is on my belt. The Leatherman Wave is heavy enough to always be noticeable. In summary:$10 multi-tools = good door stopLeatherman Wingman is better is a little better if you use the knife a lot (although I prefer the Gerber sheepsfoot/wharcliffe straight edge)Gerber 400 is nice compromise of weight and utility at a good price pointLeatherman Wave is the standard, but weighs and costs more

Perfect for every day use
Durable and reliable. Only had to buy a new one because I broke the knife while using it as a pry bar. My mistake.

Needlenose pliers with switchblade style action opening.
With some practice you can open this with thumb and forefinger and a flick of the wrist.Fron experience, try not to cut wire that is too hard like coat hanger wire, it may ruin the wire cutters.Bought this to replace a Leatherman squirt. It's a little bit bigger, but still fits nicely in a pocket. For the size, the pliers are pretty solid.

My everyday, handy tool.
I've owned 3 of these in the last 30 years. Yes, they last that long. I was only successful in breaking one of them by using it for something it wasn't meant to do. And even then, it was only the locking feature when one side of the tool was in use so I still used it for years before replacing. Glad they still make the exact same tool since I can almost unfold the tool I need by memory and not looking. Only drawback to this newest one I just purchased is that it is too stiff to open. As much as I use it, it should have loosened up a little by now.

My go To everyday carry!!!
Growing up I can remember my dad in his shop work uniform and he always had his Gerber MP right on his side on his belt. I’ve always wanted one, started out with a MP 600 Blunt nose which I love and still have and use daily, but this one the MP400 which you can see in the pictures the size difference makes this an easy every day carry, extremely durable and worth every Penny trust me, the cheaper knock off imitation models are garbage and will break within a month of daily use. This little thing is solid and weighs just about the same as it’s bigger version. The saw blade is ridiculously sharp and durable and the little scissors at first I thought were stupid but I use those probably the most tbh. Perfect Father’s Day gift or gift for any Real Man that means something to you. You’d be surprised at how often you will use this thing at work at home, while out and about etc. I use mine every single day.

Never leaves my belt. . .
I've only owned this tool for 2 weeks and it has already exceeded my expectations. It saved the day multiple times already. Worth every penny. So far I have used all but 1 of the tools available at least twice in the past 2 weeks(have not broken-in the can opener yet). The knife, scissors, screwdrivers and the pliers have seen the most use. The knife absolutely saved the day when we made a campfire last weekend and no one else remembered a knife. I yelled out "I've got a blade on my Gerber!" and not only whittled kindling to start the fire, but sharpened the sticks of 5 grateful kids so they could make S'mores. Their smiles alone were worth it. I take this tool with me everywhere, it never leaves my belt(I'm actually wearing it as I type this). So far has proven very durable and well-made. I own quite a few Gerber products and they have never let me down. Everything they make is manufactured in the U.S. as far as I know.

My CONSTANT companion!!!
This multitool is incredibly valuable and important to me. I’m a jet mechanic and this stays on the right side of my belt at ALL times. I feel like something is wrong when it’s not with me and has been so useful to me in so many situations. It’s especially awesome that I can open it with ONE HAND, and if you’re good pull out and of the accessories with one hand once it’s open. You never know when you might be holding a screw on the top of the tail of a jet with your left hand, and just really really need a screwdriver or knife in the other. My CONSTANT companion. When I fly and have to pack it in my checked bag..... mannnnnnn - I have “phantom multitool syndrome”. That’s how important it is to me
